This sophisticated holiday home, which replaced a mid-century bungalow in Polzeath, was crafted to capture panoramic sea views while harmoniously blending with the landscape. Sky-Frame’s frameless sliding doors were the perfect choice for this exposed coastal setting, offering industry-leading wind resistance, thermal insulation, and uninterrupted views of the Atlantic horizon. This Sky-Frame initiative follows these trailblazers from Lagos to Copenhagen as they challenge architectural conventions and reimagine our built environment across continents—from the Equator to the Arctic Circle. Following the screening, we will host an exceptional panel discussion featuring Tosin Oshinowo, Dorte Mandrup, Boris Noir, Andrea Zürcher, and David Basulto. The renowned Toshiko Mori will expertly moderate the conversation. This elegant London townhouse, originally built in the 1860s, has been meticulously reimagined by Alex Tart Architects in collaboration with K&H Design. In a striking contrast between past and present, the home’s period features are preserved while bold contemporary extensions redefine its spatial experience.⁠ ⁠ The design enhances light, flow, and functionality by seamlessly integrating a two-storey side extension, a single-storey rear extension, and a roof addition. Sky-Frame’s frameless sliding doors play a key role in this vision, dissolving boundaries between inside and out, flooding the interiors with natural light, and establishing a seamless connection to the garden.⁠ ⁠ Nestled within Camden’s conservation area, this project required a sensitive yet forward-thinking planning approach. This exceptional duplex apartment, located on the 7th and 8th floors of a 1970s building in Paris, underwent a remarkable transformation to create an open and elegant living space. Sky-Frame's sliding glass systems dissolve traditional boundaries, extending living spaces onto multiple terraces while framing breathtaking city views. All partition walls were removed, revealing the concrete structure's raw beauty. They were replaced with sophisticated anodised aluminium partitions that ingeniously integrate storage, climate control, and a fold-down bed. Drawing inspiration from Japanese design principles, a system of elevated platforms defines distinct zones while ensuring seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The result? A refined, minimalist space where architecture, function, and panoramic views of Paris exist in perfect harmony.
