Our co-director Christina Hertel, had the pleasure of sharing insights from our work with startups and incubators at CEDIDAC - Université de Lausanne’s “Journée de Droit de l’Entreprise” yesterday. The discussion focused on the critical role of startups in driving sustainability transitions, and the importance of integrating sustainability measurement and reporting from the very start of a business. There is still a lot that remains to be done, but it is encouraging to see how the new mandatory sustainability reporting directives are bringing scholars and practitioners together across disciplines, sparking valuable conversations on how we can reshape business paradigms for a more sustainable future. Thank you CEDIDAC - Université de Lausanne and Enterprise for Society Center (E4S) for hosting this impactful dialogue! #Sustainability #Startups #Entrepreneurship #SustainabilityReporting #BusinessTransformation

We are excited to share an update on the incredible SDG Summer School! 🌍🎓 As we reach the halfway point of this year's program, we're impressed by the exceptionally bright cohort of students from around the world. The 2024 theme, "Planetary Health," has these brilliant minds focusing on the impact of climate change on human health. We're particularly proud that our Academic Director, Christina Hertel, participated in a brownbag lunch talk last week. She engaged the students in a thought-provoking discussion about the potential and risks of responsible entrepreneurship - a topic central to our mission. The students are tackling real-world challenges posed by experts from Geneva's international organizations. Their innovative projects range from smartphone-based solutions for tuberculosis patients to machine learning applications for adapting physical education curricula in African schools. Each week, teams pitch their progress to a jury, refining their ideas as they work towards their final presentation. The creativity, dedication, and global perspective these students bring to addressing urgent challenges are truly inspiring. We're thrilled to see the next generation of responsible entrepreneurs in action, and we can't wait to see their final projects at the end of the four-week course. Bravo to all participants for their hard work! You exemplify the kind of innovative, responsible thinking our world needs. #summerunige #SDGs #SDGOlympiad #PlanetaryHealth #ResponsibleEntrepreneurship
