🌟 Excited to share impressions from our 5th #PanoramaEvent last week! Huge thanks to Dr. Jennifer Wadsworth, Phi-Lab Switzerland & Program Manager , European Space Deep-Tech Innovation Centre for the enlightening conversation on life detection missions and the influence of space on terrestrial life 🌟 Jennifer's feedback: “It was great to dive into the world of astrobiology with the Panorama team and audience, especially as we touched on many aspects ranging from the actual science that is being performed on and off-planet, all the way to terraforming and the ethics and politics of space exploration. It was particularly exciting for me that audience members brought their children along, who will hopefully be inspired to become the next generation of space scientists.” Well done Panorama team! Katarzyna Łepeta Kevin Letscher Ilya Smolensky Nadezhda Azbukina 🌟 Stay tuned and join us at our next #PanoramaEvent on the 15th of October about Art History and Art Market as we venture beyond life science topics! Welcome to D-BSSE to all newcomers! Last Thursday, we had VMB's very first newcomers event at Cargobar at the Rhine in wonderful late summer weather. We had drinks and had a very good time getting to know our newest colleagues. We hope you will all have a great time at the department, and see you around!

We’re looking back at two beautiful and fun hikes in late summer ‘24. The challenging two-day hike in the middle of August led us to a mountain hut for an overnight stay at 2257m altitude with stunning views of waterfalls, lakes, and two beautiful valleys! A bottle of booze made everyone open up! 🍾 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️ Last weekend’s day hike in Canton Nidwalden brought us a magnificent view over Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne). We were just a small group this time, but had no less fun! This marks the end of this year's VMB summer hiking series. Be sure to keep an eye out for new VMB hike announcements next spring! Switzerland has many more beautiful places that are waiting for the hiking fans at D-BSSE to discover!
