gender equality & democracy, establishing new norms now, because a woman's place is at the decision-making table.
Info
Women at the Table is a growing, global CSO based in Geneva – and the first organization to focus on systems change by helping feminists gain influence in sectors that have key structural impact: technology, sustainability, democracy and the economy. Based on an ambitious yet actionable 10-year plan, Women at the Table identifies leverage points in the intricate yet fundamental systems that dictate women’s day-to-day lives. We also spotlight and support women change-makers in order to share multiple, varied visions of women’s leadership and innovation. Women at the Table exposes the systematic exclusion of women in defining the rules – and pinpoints strategic changes to laws, regulations and norms to achieve gender equality and strengthen democracy. By connecting the right people, at the right place at the right time, women are influentially involved in all levels of decision-making, so change can happen now.

Another year, another Geneva Gender Debate- and what a debate it was! 🎤✨ Today, #INTGenderChampions presented arguments for and against the motion: "This house believes that digital and emerging technologies are catalysts for accelerating gender equality." In a surprising twist, our debaters didn’t just argue—they listened, found common ground, and ultimately came to an agreement, with the audience asking for consensus rather than declaring winners or losers. In times of challenge for #genderequality, today’s debate was a powerful reminder: real progress happens when we come together, listen, and build on shared goals. 🤝 A huge thank you to 💐 our incredible debaters, Caitlin Kraft Buchman (Women At The Table), Sameer Chauhan (UNICC), Rita French (Geneva Centre for Security Policy) and Itonde Kakoma (Interpeace). 💐 Claire Somerville (Geneva Graduate Institute) and Doreen Bogdan-Martin (International Telecommunication Union) for setting the tone with their Opening Remarks. 💐 Martin Chungong (Inter-Parliamentary Union) for reminding us of the importance of dialogue in his Closing Remarks. 💐 Naomi Samake-Bäckert for her expert moderation. 💐 Our valued partners at the Geneva Graduate Institute for helping us bring this debate to Geneva the 6th year in a row!
