Leica Geosystems Public Safety, Security and Forensics hat dies direkt geteilt
The post below was written in 2023... That analysis of the #JFK assassination was based on publicly available data at that time. With any forensic investigation, new information presents the opportunity to update or change your findings. It looks like we are about to get more evidence on this historical tragedy. https://lnkd.in/gH8R4Ebf ************************************************* I'm proud to share the work our team has done to reconstruct the 1963 JFK assassination at Dealey Plaza. This project has attracted media attention from across the nation, such as this interview on Chicago’s WGN9 New findings on JKF assassination on 60th anniversary | WGN-TV (wgntv.com) last year. However, as impressive as it was to recreate a 60-year-old presidential assassination, the implications it has on modern investigations is revolutionary. We now have the ability to create 3D reconstructions of any scene using the vast amount of 2D digital evidence today (dashcams, bodycams, cell phones, surveillance, traffic, ring, etc.). With laser scanners, we can reveal the 3rd dimension (depth) of any photo/video and use it for scientific analysis. This is a game-changer for investigations and trials in both civil and criminal cases. You can see more examples of our work at: https://lnkd.in/gNukdCwM. As Michal Gula always says: “𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝟮𝗗 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻!” #knottlab #breakingnews #digitalmediaforensics

This high-profile case involved a fatal shooting during a public demonstration back in 2020. It went through trial, sentencing, and then a gubernatorial pardon. The role of forensic engineers is to conduct scientific analysis and provide conclusions strictly based on the science. This case study walks through how the Digital Media Forensics process was used to answer two important questions in the case. https://lnkd.in/gVbYwnbA #attorneys #lawenforcement #forensicengineering

Media pick: The Brazil Federal Police use Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon #realitycapture technology, to investigate the tragic collapse of the historic Church of São Francisco de Assis in Salvador, which occurred on 5 February 2025. This #UNESCO #WorldHeritage site, known for its stunning Baroque architecture and lavish interior, suffered a devastating ceiling collapse, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The church, often called the 'Golden Church’ due to its richly decorated interior, has faced structural issues for years. Despite being one of the #SevenWonders of Portuguese Origin in the world, proper maintenance and conservation have been ongoing challenges. The recent collapse highlights the urgent need for preservation efforts. The incident was featured on the programme "#Fantástico" on Globo, showcasing the before and after scenes of the collapse: https://lnkd.in/ezgpbhQ2 Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. 🕊️ #Forensics #PublicSafety #LeicaGeosystems #RealityCapture #BrazilFederalPolice #Salvador #UNESCO

Just taking a deep breath, two seconds, on the instructions of Mark Crouch, to qualify and consume what we have achieved today; because occasionally it takes that external validation and instruction to truly see what has been achieved. Day One of the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon Public Safety & Forensics Conference *HAS* been an amazing success. So much shared. So much learned. So much networking achieved. Community fed watered and entertained. I rarely allow myself a moment to recognise what we do, what my team does, what my senior managers support. But with the words of praise and thanks ringing in my ears loudly tonight, this is a moment for us all to stop and be grateful for what we are a part of. To all the delegates, the speakers, the team and the financial supporters - THANK YOU. We go again tomorrow…… #whenithastoberight #forensicshastoberight Leica Geosystems Public Safety, Security and Forensics Kevin Smith Daniel Prewitt Jamie Dowley Phil Miller

……and so we bring our 2025 Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon Public Safety & Forensics Conference to an end. 11 months in the private planning. 9 months of public planning. 14 of the most distinguished and credible presenters, over two days. One unforgettable night on the HMS WARRIOR. A fitting closure subject, the #JFK shooting analysis completed by Knott Laboratory and up to the very minute updates on where this is, and where it might end. We are so fortunate and privileged as delegates to have such information delivered first hand, face to face, by the very people conducting the investigation. So as I start to turn my attention to 2026, and the questions of format, location, dates and who might present……I absolutely must thank everyone, every single one, of the people who have played their part in making this year’s event such an amazing success. The delegates, the speakers, the #LeicaGeosystems #Hexagon team, the senior managers supporting the continuation of the event for the benefit of the forensics community, the caterers, the amazing Martin Jakeman, and also the awesome Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Every year I attempt to portray my heartfelt thanks, and every year my words don’t seem enough. #ThankYou #whenithastoberight #forensicshastoberight
