#MaterialsMonday | How to achieve the perfect balance between ultimate sealing efficiency across all turbine stages and mitigating rub damage to rotating blades?   In #Aerospace, low pressure compressors (LPCs) or “boosters” are key systems that drive and compress high volumes of air from the external environment into the high pressure compressor section. High sealing efficiencies help to maintain and boost gas pressures into the combustor section where “fuel burn” occurs. The result is lower fuel consumption, CO2 generation and other emissions.   Our unique abradable coating materials are designed to minimize the wear to the rotating components while maximizing gas path efficiency by providing clearance control in seal areas. Our very own Metco 601NS, for example, has achieved exemplary service reputation, with many thousands of engine components having been coated with this material and millions of flight hours logged. Trust us for components with increased efficiency and fewer emissions
