  • The African Development Bank Group has made a $10 million equity investment in #Kenya’s Dhamana Guarantee Company, a provider of guarantees supporting sustainable growth enterprises. This follows an anchor investment from the UK-Government-backed Private Infrastructure Development Group through InfraCo Africa.   Solomon Adegbie-Quaynor, African Development Bank vice president for Private Sector, Infrastructure and Industrialization, attended a signing ceremony in Nairobi to finalize the Bank’s investment in Dhamana.   Quaynor stated, “The African Development Bank’s equity investment in Dhamana reinforces the catalytic role and potential of credit enhancement companies in leveraging opportunities for infrastructure financing in local currency.   • Accélérer l’accès à l’énergie propre au #BurkinaFaso Le Fonds pour l’énergie durable en Afrique (SEFA), qui est un fonds spécial multi-donateurs géré par la Banque africaine de développement, a mobilisé six millions d’euros pour soutenir la construction et l’exploitation de la centrale solaire de Dédougou dans le cadre de l’initiative #Desert2Power dans la région sahélienne. Pour Daniel Schroth, directeur des Énergies renouvelables et de l’Efficacité énergétique à la Banque africaine de développement, « le projet solaire PV de Dédougou accroît la capacité de production d’énergie renouvelable du Burkina Faso, en ligne avec les objectifs de l’initiative "Desert to Power". En soutenant des projets comme celui-ci, nous réalisons des avancées concrètes vers l’électrification du #Sahel, le renforcement de la sécurité énergétique et l’amélioration des conditions de vie de millions de personnes. » Abdoulaye TOURE, directeur financier de Qair Group Afrique, a salué l’approbation de ce financement : « Nous sommes satisfaits de l’approbation de ce financement du SEFA et remercions la Banque africaine de Développement pour son soutien au projet.   • The African Development Bank has reinforced its commitment to gender equality with the launch of a digital dashboard designed to integrate gender mainstreaming into its projects across Africa. This interactive platform allows for real-time tracking of progress on #GenderEquality and supports decision-making to maximise project impact. Through it, the Bank aims to ensure that 80% of public sector operations and 50% of private sector operations directly benefit women and girls. “This Gender Marker System Dashboard is the latest innovation in how the Bank is investing in Africa’s women to drive inclusive growth, in line with the Ten-Year Strategy 2024-2033,” said Martha T.M.
