While we see a rise in the creation of digital ventures, startups, mergers, and acquisitions across the national territory, from E-health ventures like WASPITO, and GiftedMom, e-commerce giants like Buyam (Baobab '24) and fintech services such as SB Remit, Maviance PLC or ed-tech ventures like YAKILI, the fundamental question on getting started remains- How did these ventures start, and what were their key drivers for success, what will be required from anyone attempting to follow this path? This week, we delve into the second part of starting a #digital #venture in #Cameroon with a narrow focus on the #legal and #financial elements to consider, exploring not only the challenges and opportunities but also the critical steps to success.

Our current fragmented, compartmentalised curricula and standardised approaches to schooling and assessments are excluding thousands of students who go unnoticed and are underserved, yet seemingly educated but uninspired to tackle their immediate challenge as a result of the passive programming and dogma of colonial education instruments. To date, some of our traditional pedagogical methods and approaches still encourage a single solution to problem-solving and a way of thinking through a euro-centric lens, that is divorced from the realities of life and fails to equip learners with the capability to successfully tackle emerging issues from the complexities of modern life. From October 2024, we will be hosting a series of conversations with schools, teachers, researchers, students, and parents on the pathways of developing a curricular roadmap for this type of education (a model that recognises the gifts and talents of the learner), which encourages the combination of #technology, #AI, #data, and #human #problem-solving capability and #creativity. You will be principally responsible for leading the development of instructional material to support teaching and learning in primary and secondary schools in the delivery of online learning, as well as coordinate the coaching programme for teachers integrating digital tools for teaching, learning, and assessment.
