Challenge: heating transition.  Solution: deep geothermal energy? The heating transition is one of the greatest challenges of our time. While almost half of the EU's electricity already comes from renewable energies, the heating supply often still relies on fossil fuels. The heating transition includes various measures and technologies aimed at converting the heating supply to renewable energies and increasing energy efficiency. Beneath our feet lies a still underestimated resource, with significant potential to further advance the heating transition:  deep geothermal energy 🌍 Geothermal energy uses the natural heat from the earth's interior and thus offers a CO2-neutral and sustainable energy source. Geothermal energy can make an important contribution to an efficient and environmentally friendly energy supply, especially for municipal heating networks.   ➡️ How is geothermal energy implemented in practice?  We will illustrate this in the following slides, using the Laufzorn II project from @Erdwärme Grünwald GmbH by way of example.   Our experts are coordinating the project as a whole, in all its complexity, in order to make the site operational in short order – while ensuring compliance with the strict environmental requirements in the landscape conservation areas. Toyota will build Lexus EVs at a new production facility in Shanghai, only the second wholly foreign-owned vehicle plant in China after Tesla GigaShanghai. New EV models and batteries will be developed and built in the facility, which aims to leverage the vast logistics and supply chains in the area, plus the large talent pool of the city.
