Cyprus Refugee Council will be hosting an online training session on the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights scheduled to take place on Monday April 8th, 2024, from 15:00 to 17:00. The training will be delivered by the legal team at Cyprus Refugee Council and will specialise on the EU Charter in judicial practice regarding the protection of asylum seekers. The session will provide an opportunity for lawyers and justice practitioners to build on their understanding of the EU Charter and engage with relevant case law which has made reference to the Charter in Cypriot courts and at the European Court of Justice. We aim to equip participants with tools to identify and prevent rights violations in the context of asylum procedures, and to strengthen legal reasoning and argumentation for court submissions and advisory policy reports. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session where there will be the possibility to discuss the scope of the Charter in more detail as well as raise any further questions on the laws governing asylum that you encounter in your daily work. We look forward to seeing you among us. Please fill out the form below to register your attendance by Friday, 5th April 2024. Register here: https://lnkd.in/dqWrmXkc
