🌟 Celebrating the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 🌟 This year, we proudly celebrate the pioneering work of Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun, recipients of the 2024 The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, whose discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) has forever changed the landscape of molecular biology. Their findings revealed the subtle yet powerful role of these tiny molecules in gene regulation, giving us a new lens to understand how life itself is orchestrated at the cellular level. Their research revealed that miRNAs work by controlling the translation and degradation of messenger RNA (mRNA), effectively preventing proteins from being made. This post-transcriptional layer of gene regulation operates in the cytoplasm and is essential to all complex multicellular life. It influences a vast range of biological processes—from embryonic development to cellular maintenance in adults, and plays a critical role in disease mechanisms, particularly in cancer. Their work, beginning with C. elegans, laid the foundation for countless innovations—including our mission at Theramir Ltd, where we build on this discovery to develop groundbreaking cancer therapies. This discovery goes beyond recognition; it has sparked hope for real, transformative impact, especially in areas like cancer therapy where miRNA's precision offers us new ways to target diseases that have eluded treatment for so long. As we continue our journey in the miRNA therapeutic space, we are driven by the potential for life-changing therapies—guided by patient needs, hope, and the rigor of science. We're just getting started. Biotechnology Research
Developing novel microRNA based therapeutics and companion diagnostics for patients and healthcare providers
About us
Theramir’s proprietary technologies are based on microRNAs (miRNAs), a class of small non-coding RNAs that can regulate multiple genes and pathways associated with cancer growth and metastasis. The company has developed a panel of miRNAs, both biological and synthetic, which can affect the function and disrupt expression of an expanding list of oncoproteins that are dysregulated in most cancer types. Thus, our technologies can be applied to the development of novel targeted therapeutics that may potentially transform the precision oncology field by creating new knowledge on the pathology of the disease and by enabling the customization and personalization of cancer treatment.

Pink October: 30 Years of Inspiration and Action Every October, we are reminded of the ongoing battle against breast cancer, a disease that impacts millions of lives. For patients, survivors, and their families, breast cancer is a daily journey filled with physical, emotional, and psychological challenges. Pink October reminds us to raise awareness, promote prevention, and reflect on the care cancer patients need beyond treatment. Every October, the world unites under a single, powerful symbol—the pink ribbon. This ribbon has become a beacon of hope, resilience, and the battle against breast cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Month was first organized in 1985 by the American Cancer Society in partnership with Imperial Chemical Industries as a week-long campaign to promote early detection through mammography. In 1992, the pink ribbon was introduced by Evelyn Lauder, Vice President of Estée Lauder, and Alexandra Penney, Editor-in-Chief of SELF magazine. Their efforts turned the campaign into a global movement that continues to inspire action and hope today. At RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd, Theramir Ltd, and Promed Bioscience, our work goes beyond treatment, focusing on a holistic care model offering specialised skincare, developing miRNA-based treatments for TN breast and metastatic cancer and creating biomaterials for tissue replacement and healing. For many affected by cancer, Pink October is an emotional time. Patients may feel anxiety, fatigue, and uncertainty, highlighting the importance of supporting their physical and emotional well-being. We believe cancer care must treat the whole person and provide care for their loved ones. As we mark Pink October, it’s a powerful reminder of the crucial role prevention and early detection play in the fight against breast cancer. Here are essential steps everyone can take to remain proactive in protecting their health: - Get Screened: Regular mammograms and self-exams increase the chances of early detection. - Know Your Risks: Understand personal and family history, lifestyle factors, and age-related risks. - Stay Informed: Keep up with research, treatments, and breakthroughs. - Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Balanced nutrition, exercise, and limiting alcohol can reduce risk. - Support and Advocate: Raise awareness, engage in the conversation, and support others. This October, we’re taking action. In collaboration with Europa Donna Cyprus, we’ve launched a special εὖSKIN® product pack. We will also host seminars, workshops, and educational programs throughout the month to engage the community and raise awareness. In addition, we will donate free εὖSKIN® products to hospitals, oncology centers, and specialists across Cyprus and educational meetings will be held in 10 central pharmacies to share insights on prevention and patient care. Together, we strive to make a lasting impact—not just this October, but every day, bringing us closer to a future where no one faces breast cancer alone. #pinkoctober

Two days in London 🇬🇧 filled with memories, inspiration, and discovery. It’s always an honor to return to King's College London, a place that has been so formative for me. This visit was not just about work, but also about reconnecting with incredible people who share the same drive and vision for healthcare innovation. I had the chance to visit my PhD department at the James Black Centre, my old house, and campus—it was like stepping back in time, reflecting on how far the journey has come. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as it was the first week of the new academic year. Seeing students starting a new chapter of their lives was refreshing, reminding me of the excitement and energy that comes with learning. I also explored new corners of King’s, including the historic Bush House and the Maughan Library, where the rich history of King’s truly comes alive. A special thank you to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shitij Kapur for the warm hospitality and the wonderful dinner prepared by the university staff. Our discussions on how every sector can support national health systems (NHS) and bring innovation closer to those in need were truly enlightening. I was also inspired by the work of Professor Graham Lord at King's Health Partners and Professor Sebastien Ourselin FREng FMedSci at London Institute for Healthcare Engineering. Mental health was a key topic with Professor Dame Til Wykes, highlighting its importance in our healthcare systems. My visit to the King's Entrepreneurship Institute with Julie Devonshire OBE and Holly Knower was also inspiring—seeing how they nurture entrepreneurship from early academic years is a model for supporting future innovators. The Cicely Saunders Institute, Kings College London, with Professor Matthew Maddocks and his team, emphasized the importance of palliative care, which is often misunderstood as end-of-life care, when in fact it is an integral part of the healthcare system, providing much-needed support at all stages of serious illness. I spent a few packed days in a city I love—London . Each time I visit, I discover something new. But above all, it’s the people that make a city, a university, or any place truly special. A special thank you to good friends Helene (Robe ) Williams for reconnecting me with King's College London Alumni and taking care of me during my visit, and for sending me the photos from my graduation speech, and to Dr. Maya Thanou for sharing her wisdom on how you can take a drug from just an idea to the market, benefiting patients. To the next adventure! ✨ Theramir Ltd Promed Bioscience RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd #innovation #kcl #foreverkings #startup #biotechnology #cancerresearch
