Wer sind Sie und was ist der Afrikabezug Ihres Unternehmens? Mein Name ist Oliver Hermes, ich bin Vorstandsvorsitzender und CEO der multinationalen Wilo Group – einem der weltweit führenden Premiumanbieter von Pumpen und Pumpensystemen für die Gebäudetechnik, die Wasserwirtschaft und die Industrie. Inzwischen können wir auf rund 30 Jahre Afrikageschäft und -erfahrung blicken, in denen mit hocheffizienten Pumpen und Pumpensystemen der nachhaltige Ausbau kritischer Infrastrukturen in Afrika vorangetrieben und die insbesondere in Subsahara-Afrika knappe Ressource Wasser bewegt wurde. 2. Welche Chancen sehen Sie mit Blick auf die Geschäftsbeziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Subsahara-Afrika? Es ist deutlich spürbar, dass sich der Aufstieg des Globalen Südens nicht vom um sich greifenden Protektionismus bremsen lässt. Die global wirkenden Megatrends bedeuten für die Länder der südlichen Hemisphäre in Summe eine nie dagewesene Dynamik – sie machen sie mehr und mehr zu handelnden Akteuren auf der ökonomischen und politischen Bühne einer multipolaren Welt. Der afrikanische Markt gewinnt daher zunehmend an wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung. Deutsche Unternehmen, die wettbewerbsfähig bleiben möchten, bauen besser heute als morgen ihre Präsenz vor Ort auf. 3. 📣 Wilo Group strengthens British German relations at the 21st BCCG New Year's Conference & Reception 2025 We are a proud member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany e.V. (BCCG) since last year and recently had the honour of attending the 21st #BCCG New Year's Conference & Reception 2025. The event brought together high-ranking representatives from politics and business to discuss the political situation in Great Britain, Germany, and the USA. Under the motto "Year of Change: Embracing New Possibilities," important topics such as artificial intelligence and water security (Blue Deal) were addressed. Peter Glauner, CEO & CSO Wilo Europe, represented the Wilo Group in a panel, along with speakers from InstaDeep, Airbus, Octopus Energy and the British Embassy. Amongst the discussion, he emphasizes the importance of international cooperation: "The German-British friendship is an indispensable foundation for the success of our trade relations and for Europe as a whole.
