KSB receives award at MINExpo 2024 🏆 Freeport-McMoRan Inc., one of the largest copper producers in the world, has honoured pump manufacturer KSB as a supplier for particularly good cooperation at MINExpo International in Las Vegas, USA.   Erkki Kohtanen, Vice President of KSB GIW, Inc., accepted the award on behalf of the KSB Group. KSB GIW, Inc. 👏   Freeport-McMoRan, a leading international mining company focused on copper, gold and molybdenum, operates in the Americas and Indonesia.   MINExpo is the world's largest mining trade show, organised by the National Mining Association. It takes place every four years in Las Vegas and brings together professionals, experts and decision-makers from the global mining industry. She managed tasks like mailbox handling, simplifying inventory processes, and correctly allocating customer pumps. Beyond her professional duties, Lea embraced the cultural diversity of her Canadian colleagues, learning about various customs and traditions. Highlights of her stay included the thrilling Edge Walk on the CN Tower in Toronto and a trip to Niagara Falls. 🌏 Embracing Intercultural Collaboration at KSB 🌏 Selina Jara, our dual student, who recently completed an eight-week international assignment at SEC-KSB in Shanghai, China is sharing her inspiring journey. This opportunity is reserved for our top-performing students, and Selina’s experience underscores the value of intercultural collaboration across KSB’s global locations. Selina gained in-depth knowledge of international projects and deepened her understanding of cultural differences. Working in the Project Management department, she ensured efficient project workflows through daily communication between colleagues in Germany and China. She also participated in the testing of RUV and RSR reactor coolant pumps at the LinGang site, the only location worldwide with this testing field. Beyond work, Selina adapted to local payment methods and dining habits with the support of her Chinese colleagues. She explored the Great Wall in Beijing 🏯, the Bund in Shanghai 🌆, and enjoyed a weekend trip to Hong Kong 🏙️. Selina reflected, “The insights and experiences I gained will have a significant impact on my future career, helping me grow both professionally and personally.” We are proud of Selina’s achievements and look forward to seeing the positive influence of her experience on her career and our organization. 🌟 Have you had any international experiences that shaped your career? 🌍 Empowering Communities in Kenya with Clean Water: KSB’s Commitment to Sustainability 🌍 In the heart of Kenya, the presence of fluoride in water has led to severe dental and skeletal fluorosis, causing not only physical pain but also social stigma for many. People with discolored and damaged teeth often face discrimination, limiting their opportunities for better jobs and a brighter future. At KSB, we believe in making a difference. That’s why we have donated 10 UPA pumps to support the Moritz-Nepomuk Foundation in building filtration systems.
