AG Animationsfilm – the Animation Association Germany – was founded in 2011 with the aim of raising the awareness for the art and necessity of animation in German media, politics and society. It represents many different people working in animation like freelancers, producers, artists, filmmakers and storyboarders from all over Germany and helps them to connect with each other. The German Animation Association also represents the interest of the German animation scene in regards of national and international media politics.
One of the biggest goals the German Animation Association sets itself is to support the independent animation culture in Germany in connection with creating a greater perception and a stronger presence of German animation with all its diversity (short film, feature film, children’s media) in policy, media and on national and international events. Members of AG Animationsfilm profit from a big network and are able to get quick help and advice by sharing knowledge and different experiences with each other. Furthermore the German Animation Association lobbies the tv institutions and sponsors to generate an awareness for the needs and interests of people working in animation. In this way AG Animationsfilm helps to build new structures, new jobs and improves labour conditions.
