It has been held in Munich every two years since 1968. The fair is held in conjunction with the analytica conference, where the scientific community's international elite meets to discuss the latest topics that pertain to chemistry, biochemistry and laboratory medicine. Well-known suppliers of laboratory equipment and manufacturers of analysis devices from around the world present their latest products and technologies at analytica. Exhibits cover the entire range of laboratory technology: from microscopes, reagents and analysis scales to mass spectrometers and Raman spectroscopy. The topics are as diverse as the application sectors and range from food analysis and bioinformatics to material analysis and drug discovery. Besides the trade fair and the conference, the supporting program gives participants practice-oriented insights. From the Live Labs, the special show on Occupational Safety and Health and Safety in the Workplace, the forum lectures and an extensive program of training events to highlight days with specific themes such as analytica Job Day and Finance Day, there is something for every area of interest.

⚛️ A New Quantum Phenomenon Observed in Graphene 💠 For the first time, scientists have directly observed the formation of electron vortices within graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms. Using a quantum magnetic field sensor, they visualized them in this material with its unique properties. These swirling patterns of electrons offer new insights into the behavior of matter at the atomic scale, paving the way for innovative applications in fields such as quantum computing and electronics. This discovery opens up new possibilities for understanding and harnessing the unique properties of graphene. https://lnkd.in/g_TXUk3Y ETH Zürich National Institute for Materials Science Marius Palm Chaoxin Ding William Huxter Christian Degen #MaterialsAnalysis #QuantumPhysics #QuantumMechanics #nanotechnology #nanotech #physics [Image: Chaoxin Ding - Using a magnetic field sensor (red arrow) inside a diamond needle, researchers at ETH imaged electron vortices in a graphene layer (blue).]

✨ Precise View of Light-Matter Interaction in Plasmonic Materials 🌟 There is a new way to precisely measure the interaction of light with tiny metal particles. This could be crucial for renewable energy and other technologies. Now it is possible to track exactly how light excites electrons in these metal particles (like gold nanoparticles) and how that energy decays over time. It is a more precise way to analyze these interactions than ever before. The new technique paves the way for the development of better materials for solar cells, light-based communications and more. Understanding how light interacts with such materials is crucial for optimizing their performance in various applications. https://lnkd.in/gjw2yeGh Center for Free-Electron Laser Science Hamburg Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY Universität Hamburg Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München King Saud University Universität Potsdam Vincent Wanie Erik Månsson Dominik Höing Johannes Blöchl Dr. Abdallah M. 🧫 3D Bioprinting Offers Precise Analysis Without Animal Testing 🐰 Researchers created the first-ever liver model using human cells and 3D printing, completely free of animal-derived materials. These are the details about this huge step towards more ethical and reliable biomedical research: 🚫 No more animal suffering: Millions of calves and mice are used annually for research materials. This new method eliminates that entirely. 💯 More accurate results: Animal models don't always translate perfectly to humans. This human-based model could lead to faster development of effective drugs. ✅ Fewer failed trials: 90% of drugs successful in animal testing fail in humans. This could improve those odds significantly. https://lnkd.in/dTCANKhf Technische Universität Berlin THT Biomaterials GmbH Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR) Ahmed Samir Mohamed Ali Johannes Hackethal Albert Braeuning Lisa Woelken Cornelia Rauh Peter Neubauer Jens Kurreck #biotech #biotechnology #biomaterials #3Dprinting [Image: TU Berlin - Researcher operating a bioprinter.]
