Social Media Champions… AGAIN! 🏆🏆 Our content and social media channels for the #Bayer04 Women's team have matched the Men’s team and also won the accolade from the International Football Institute as German social media Champions for the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga! (Shared with FC Bayern München.) The victory here feels greater than a social media award though. This symbolizes the commitment, hard work and successful development of our women’s team in recent time, while shining them in the exact same light as the men. Our more focused approach - especially on Instagram - with a new content strategy including more video and photo production and more people power on site has paid off. Not only by smashing the 100,000-follower mark, our media team, pictured with first team goalkeeper Charlotte Voll, have well and truly rounded off this historic and successful season for all at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2023/24. 🖤❤️

I feel truly honored and happy to be named the "Player of the Year" by HORIZONT. It’s a fantastic feeling to stand alongside such remarkable and diverse honorees such as Andreas Jung, who received the "Lifetime Award" for his long-standing commitment as a board member at FC Bayern München, the huge and very active Schwarz Gruppe as "Sponsor of the Year", as well as the podcast "Einfach mal Luppen" by Toni Kroos and Felix Kroos as "Media of the Year”. I would especially like to say thank you to Eintracht Frankfurt CEO Axel Hellmann for his laudation. Axel has always been a smart, reliable and important colleague for me in our business, working tirelessly to advance our league and the stakes of German football globally. The award granted to me is a testament to our collective effort at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the last years. I am incredibly proud what we have accomplished together - no one will ever take this away. At the same time I take this recognition as a strong mandate for us at Bayer 04 Leverkusen to further grow and develop as an organization. Over the past six years, we have continuously climbed from 28th place to the top 10 in the UEFA coefficient rankings. We had a historical season with sales, numbers, awareness and emotions reaching record levels. The list is compiled by the International Football Institute (Internationales Fußball Institut) and assesses the social media accounts of all 18 Bundesliga clubs across various criteria, including follower growth, engagement rates, content quality and interaction with fans. "We have been pursuing a clear plan that focuses on growth and brand building, while at the same time strengthening the foundation for a close and sustainable connection with our fans," explained Holger Tromp, Bayer 04 director of communications. "Our strategy, which is based on creative and high-quality content, is proving effective." Felix Loesner, head of content at Bayer 04, also provided more detail on club strategy, adding: "We are increasingly focusing on getting close and providing behind-the-scenes insights in order to engage fans emotionally. Creative and contextual content, combined with the continuous expansion of our video and graphic formats, are the key to our success." The match is a first as the teams didn't meet on competitive level so far. 🪄 This young man turns football into magic. Florian Wirtz played his first ever UEFA Champions League match yesterday. Five minutes into the match, he scored his first goal. After 36 minutes he was the first German player to ever score a brace in a Champions League debut. Being voted Man of the Match was the icing on the cake. The whole team showed an excellent performance. With our 4-0 win at Rotterdam, we started perfectly into the new UCL format and hope to continue like that in our upcoming matches.
