🏁 Revving up the Engines: IMS vs. Formula 1 Trademark Showdown 🏁 Indianapolis Motor Speedway revs into action, reigniting a trademark dispute with Formula 1 and its associates. Vowing to safeguard its intellectual property by any means necessary, IMS braces for a legal showdown. 🍖 The bone of contention? None other than the iconic phrase 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,' etched into the DNA of the Indianapolis 500 since its trademarking by former IMS owner Hulman and Company in 1986. 🖼️ Picture this: You're part of IMS's IT team, and you stumble upon a surprising revelation – since the inception of the internet, not a single top-level domain has been registered for your organization's iconic phrase. https://lnkd.in/efuE98jW https://lnkd.in/eXuRQQvr Let’s leave Germany’s former chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel sum this up: “The Internet is new territory for all of us” – June 2013 🏎️💥 #IMSvsF1 #TrademarkDispute #BrandIdentity #formula1 #indy500

Resurfacing updates from the Nürburgring! 🏁 The iconic Nordschleife is getting a kilometer of new asphalt in the Fuchsröhre section this winter, while another part of the track undergoes a digital transformation. The notorious Fuchsröhre section, including the challenging compression leading into the Adenauer Forst, is receiving a complete overhaul, with the Nürburgring 1927 GmbH investing three million euros to ensure the track's unique characteristics remain intact. The Grand Prix circuit is also seeing improvements with asphalt work at the pit lane exit. Over the past ten years, about two-thirds of the Nordschleife has seen new asphalt, contributing to reduced lap times. The second phase of digital monitoring for the Nordschleife is underway, aiming to enhance the experience of tourist drives and races with a smoother operation. Scheduled to go live in 2025, the project includes the installation of 58 cameras and miles of fiber optic cables. The digital overhaul is set to conclude by the start of the 2024 season on March 16, following a year of AI training and trial runs in 2024. The Nürburgring 1927 GmbH emphasizes its ongoing commitment to the track's preservation, having invested approximately 29 million euros since 2015. What are your thoughts about the use of AI as part of the CCTV race control solution? #Nurburgring #Nordschleife #RacetrackUpgrades #DigitalTransformation #Resurfacing #AI Photo copyright: Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. A new 4.2km long racetrack with an 822m long main straight is currently build near the Spanish city Sevilla, just 15 min. driving distance from the Sevilla airport. The project has been in the planning phase since several years and was put on hold during the Covid 19 pandemic. The opening of the track is now scheduled for spring 2024. The racetrack's infrastructure includes a pit building with 35 boxes, 30,000 sqm paddock space, a track-side restaurant, media center, medical center and office space. The "Sevilla Circuit" will be approx. 1h driving distance away from the already existing 4.4km long "Circuito Monteblanco" which was opened 2006. What are your thoughts about the close proximity of both circuits?
