Hi, I’m Nicole Seyring! I live south of Munich and run my own small business, circulatemore, where I consult, support, and lead projects focused on #zero waste, #circulareconomy, and #reusablepackaging. ♻️ Ⓜ️How long have you been a member & what is your role at Circular Munich? Being part of a community that actively works on making our city more circular is incredibly motivating! 🌱 The best part? Meeting enthusiastic, international professionals who dedicate their time and energy to this cause while having a lot of fun along the way. Ⓜ️ How do you make an impact through your work at CM? As we grow, it's essential to establish clear ways of working together, sharing information, and communicating effectively—so we can maximize our impact while respecting the precious time our members invest. I also support new member onboarding, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and integrated. Additionally, CM is increasingly collaborating with the City of Munich to implement the cities Zero Waste Strategy, and I’m involved in project coordination to help bring circularity to the city. 🏗️How do we turn waste into Innovation? Introducing HopfON’s Circular Solution for Construction ♻️ Munich’s construction sector is booming, but did you know it’s also responsible for 40% of global CO2 emissions and 50% of resource consumption? Meanwhile, Bavaria’s hop industry generates 80% unused biomass each harvest. What if these two challenges could solve each other? Meet #HopfON, a Munich-based startup, part of our #ecosystemmap, transforming hop harvest waste into sustainable building materials—starting with acoustic panels that replace conventional, hard-to-recycle materials like PU foam and MDF boards. How does HopfON contribute to #circularcities? Ⓜ️ Lower carbon footprint – repurposing agricultural waste Ⓜ️ Less waste – creating a closed-loop system Ⓜ️ Resource efficiency – replacing virgin materials with biobased alternatives 📉 The Munich 1st ever #CircularityGapReport showed that shifting to resource-efficient building practices could reduce Munich’s material footprint by 3.7% and carbon footprint by 3.3%. HopfON is a promising step in that direction! 🌱 Could waste-based materials be the future of Munich’s built environment? 👉 Read more in our latest blog post by our CM member Lina Maria Echeverri-Roeder and our intern Najet Ben Mabrouk: https://lnkd.in/dA7RriNz Ⓜ️♾ #CircularEconomy #ZeroWaste #SustainableConstruction #CircularMunich #Innovation #HopfON

Hi, I’m Guillaume Rame, a Frenchman living in Munich for 12 years now. I am an IT product leader and I am passionate about sustainability, #circulareconomy, and driving positive change through collaboration. Ⓜ️How long have you been a member & what is your role at Circular Munich? I joined Circular Munich 6 months ago to learn more about the circular economy, connect with like-minded people and contribute to tangible change. Since then, I’ve contributed by supporting CM’s internal operations, including migrating the Google Drive system, participating in strategic discussions, and engaging in community events like the Circular Dinner e-waste workshop. Ⓜ️What attracted you to volunteer at Circular Munich? I was drawn to Circular Munich because of its strong community-driven approach to local action. I believe that it is key to making a real impact, and CM provides a platform to learn, collaborate, and work towards meaningful change together in different sectors. Ⓜ️How do you make an impact through your work at CM? How does CM give you the chance to express your creativity and help co-create? My values align perfectly with CM’s “do” attitude—turning ideas into action. I have actively worked to connect CM with my local circularity circle, identifying collaboration opportunities and brainstorming new events—one of which, a costume swap party, took place last weekend ! CM provides the perfect space to experiment, collaborate, and bring circularity to life at a local level. Ⓜ️What would you say to individuals passionate about co-shaping the “circular” future of Munich? If you want to make a real impact, CM is the perfect place to start! Whether you’re an expert or just curious about #circularity (like me initially), your contribution—big or small—matters. Join us in building stronger communities and creating practical solutions for a more #circularMunich. Let’s take action together! Catch up with Guillaume via LinkedIn if you resonate with his work or need help! More on how to join us: https://lnkd.in/dnYz5xm9 Ⓜ️♾ #Munich #Strongertogether #CommunityImpact

#Gastronomy in Munich is turning "circular". Circular Munich through its #GoodFoodCircle, Charlie & Lars and the #ChangeCorporation accepted the challenge from the Landeshauptstadt München to develop a model to reduce #foodwaste in Munich business canteens. As part of the Sustainable Business Program of the Department for Labour and Economy in Munich (#MuenchenReferatfürArbeitundWirtschaft / #RAW), we are now researching the potential for avoiding food waste in a large company restaurant that serves around 1,300 meals a day. The aim of the innovative project is to examine and suggest waste prevention and reduction options along the entire production cycle of the canteen, from purchasing, warehousing, production, serving, returning and further processing. As the focus areas are production, serving and returning, we are observing and weighing the waste generated there in order to determine potential for improvements. On the basis of the data analysis, implementation recommendations will be drawn up and implemented by the end of April 2025. 📸 Katrin Wesche-Kolo and Edda Vanhoefer monitoring the food waste return station at the business restaurant last week. Follow the story to learn which are the key findings and recommendations for a #CircularGastronomy! Ⓜ️♾ #CircularFoodSystems #Circularity #SystemsThinking #circularsolutions

Our members are the heart & soul of #CircularMunich’s mission. The values we share provide the pillars necessary to shift to the circular reality we have envisioned for Munich. In an effort to raise awareness about our activities and inspire you to take action, we launch today our “Meet our Member” Series. MEET Sabine Müller, a sustainable consultant from Munich. Ⓜ️How long have you been a member & what’s your role at Circular Munich? Since 2023 I’m the head of the “Fashion Circle” and member of the “Electronics circle”. Ⓜ️What attracted you to volunteer at Circular Munich? #CircularEconomy is a big opportunity for companies to make their business fit for the future. Furthermore, in my opinion, people would live more “circular” if only they knew how. This motivated me to join Circular Munich e.V. Here I can help Munich citizens live #circularity. Ⓜ️How do you make an impact through your work at CM? How does CM give you the chance to express your creativity and help co-create? In the fashion circle, we raise awareness about how to make our life in the fashion sector more sustainable by implementing #circular practices. It is also about sharing practical & cool ways to repair clothes or to buy second hand. With a great team, our vision of a fashion loop for #Munich is closer to reality than what we think. Ⓜ️What would you say to individuals passionate about co-shaping the “circular” future of Munich? At #CircularMunich you meet passionate people and turn your ideas into action, while being supported by an enthusiastic community of doers.
