    The future of automotive technology is here, and it's BRIGHTER than ever! A very practical example of how software is reprogramming the car industry at #Auto.AI Europe in #Berlin today: Step 1: Headlights got much better & brighter over the past 30+ years since HID/Xenon was introduced. LED took this to another level. Step 2: This created the problem of automatic headlight levelling to keep those bright lights on the road and off the eyes of oncoming drivers. Step 3: More hardware needed to be added to monitor changes in vehicle inclination. Plus all the control units and wiring to connect the new hardware sensors and their related actuators. From inductive level measurement sensors at rear axles to ultrasonic sensor solutions that measure distance to the road... Step 4: The new system has proven its usefulness and is made mandatory by the regulators. Increasing road safety, but also increasing bill of materials, maintenance complexity and the price of all vehicles. STEP INTO THE FUTURE: Modern cars will have enough computing power and readily available data to achieve the same result with a software-defined approach. Our Virtual Sensors can kill sensor hardware, reduce cost, simplify maintenance. And yes: They can auto-level your headlights while doing all of the above ! #VirtualSensors #SDV
