Reminder: If you're in New York, join tonight's discussion on the humanities' role in our challenging political moment. Can the humanities help solve today’s most pressing issues? Can critical thinking and empathy offer viable solutions, or are we wasting our time? Join Kathryn Abrams, Michael G. Hanchard and Dagmar Herzog as they tackle these questions with Irene Kacandes. As part of the event, we're very proud to be launching our edited collection of the "Humanities for Humans" discussion series. De Gruyter Brill's David F. Eisler will be there to celebrate with our partners from 1014 - space for ideas. The book is now available in print as well as open access online: https://lnkd.in/eDbQDvbB Please note, the event will take place at the Liederkranz Club, not at 1014. Register now to join! https://lnkd.in/eFYuBRRR #DeGruyterBrill #Humanities #HumanitiesForHumans

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our new Open Access series at De Gruyter Brill, Short Introductions to Korean Studies (SIKS), edited by Prof. Vladimir Tikhonov. https://lnkd.in/ewRF2-eP With growing global interest in all things Korean—from K-pop to radical feminism or North Korean military capacities—this series seeks to provide concise, research-based, high-quality, and comprehensive introductions to Korea across its pre-modern, modern, and contemporary periods. These introductions offer academically rigorous, yet accessible insights into Korean society, politics, culture, history, and thought. Designed to be valuable in the undergraduate classroom, these resources will also serve as a trusted reference for media professionals and anyone in the broader public with an interest in Korea. All volumes in this series will be published in #OpenAccess with financial support from the Association for Korean Studies in Europe (AKSE). For proposal submissions or further information, please reach out to me at iulia.ivana(at)brill(dot)com. Looking forward to reading the first submissions! 😊

I'm speaking at this webinar on using AI for research. It's hosted by De Gruyter Brill (an academic publisher) & is FREE for you to register: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g6a6FqBS I've spent the past few years testing every AI tool claiming to 'revolutionize' research. ⤴️ Most overpromise and underdeliver. But a few have been incredibly useful in strengthening research quality while increasing my productivity. Next Wednesday (March 26), I'm joining Scott to share my insights and workflow of using AI tools for research. P.S. If you're skeptical about AI in academia, come anyway. I was too until I found the right applications. --------------------------- Know others who might benefit? 🔁 Repost 👋 I'm Razia Click my name + follow + 🔔 I test AI tools to simplify your #research & #analysis (& 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮) Want FREE tips on using AI in research? ↳ Join 12K+ researchers here ⬇️ 🔗 link below my name ----------------------- #aiinresearch

For all who can read German: This is possibly my last paper I am publishing although I still have plans and motivation for at least another one, but time flies. The paper is Diamond Open Access (thanks to de Gruyter and the journal editors) and has been recently published online ahead of print, being part of a special issue on Library as a Place of Learning, Teaching Library, Future Skills, and Marketing, with guest editor Alice Keller, Basel, Switzerland. If you are interested in fostering #informationliteracy, you might like “Often Underestimated by Researchers: Doing Research More Successfully with Information Literacy.
