Reiner Lehmann, MD and Daniel Chapple, PhD are looking forward to seeing everyone at the ESMO - European Society for Medical Oncology Congress in #Barcelona next week, where we will be presenting results from a recent survey that was completed by 2463 patients diagnosed with #ProstateCancer, in only 10 days. ⚡ 💡 The objective of the research was to better understand the role that #patient #selfefficacy plays in the #QualityofLife of patients with prostate cancer, and the factors that can contribute towards better self-efficacy. 🔎 In psychology, self‑efficacy is the belief in one’s own ability to manage a specific situation. The term can also be applied to the clinical environment to describe a patient’s ability to manage specific situations related to their diagnosis outside of their scheduled clinic visits. ⌚ The survey was designed in collaboration with Queen's University Belfast, AstraZeneca and patient advocates based in the UK to better understand insights from #behindpatienteyes, and the poster will be on display 09:00-17:00 on Sunday 15 September. Dr Reiner Lehmann will join the first author, Professor Joe O'Sullivan, at the poster lunch session to be held at 12:00-13:00 on the same day, and both will be pleased to answer any questions and discuss the results in more detail.
