Let’s dive into some impressive numbers! 🏆💡📈 Quantum technologies are among the most promising fields of research of our time and have the potential to revolutionise entire industries and tackle challenges once thought impossible. 🌍 Germany is taking a bold step with its Quantum Technologies Action Plan, strengthening national funding efforts. Public investment in quantum technologies is skyrocketing worldwide. According to the Quantum Technology Monitor, public funding in 2023 totalled 42 billion US dollars worldwide. And during the course of the year, an additional 10 billion US dollars was made available. ⁉️ Why is this important? Quantum technologies could unlock 2 trillion (2,000 billion) US dollars in economic potential by 2035. However, the global race is intensifying – China and the US are investing heavily, and Germany and Europe must keep pace to remain competitive. 🏃🏃♀️ ⁉️ Which funding opportunities for companies and research are available? 🎉 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗔 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻!   On 23 January 2025, the second EurA Quantum Congress took place – an event that brought together experts from the quantum industry and science. With 35 participants, the congress was a great success! The EurA Innovation Campus provided the ideal setting for inspiring discussions and vibrant exchange. The event was organised by the Quantum Technologies Team led by Dr Martin Garbos.   💡 Why do we host a Quantum Congress? Our aim was to promote collaboration between industry and science, foster new ideas and proposals, and drive the future of quantum technologies forward together.   🛠️ Key topics of the congress included: - Quantum computing - Quantum sensor technologies - Quantum communication - Enabling quantum technologies   And we succeeded: participants had the opportunity to network, share ideas, and discover exciting opportunities for collaboration. 🎉𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗭𝗜𝗠 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁! 🎉 As part of the ZIM network ISKNET, we have made it: Together with CampusGenius GmbH, the University of Duisburg-Essen (SE Lehrstuhl für Software Engineering (UDE)), the University of Sheffield (UK) and TUBR LTD (UK), we were able to submit an innovative project in the fourth ZIM-UK call and receive funding for it! 🚀 The ‘𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴’ project aims to develop intelligent 5G campus networks for manufacturing. Based on edge computing and artificial intelligence, the aim is to create a private network that prioritises the machines that are currently active in the production hall without delay. Thanks to AI predictions, the network adapts dynamically and thus supports efficient and responsive production. 🤖⚙️ The successful submission is the result of a co-operation between the project sponsors VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH, AiF Projekt GmbH (coordinator) and Innovate UK.
