Led by Juanjo Hierro, this session provides an overview of data spaces and shares the FIWARE Vision regarding how data spaces should be run and managed. Participants will learn about the necessary components and how to seamlessly onboard to existing ones. The basis for this is a series of internationally recognised standards for Decentralised Identity and Access Management based on Verifiable Credentials, a terminology that will be explained in detail. Some data spaces are free, whereas others require payment to access their services. In this regard a description of the products and offerings based on TM Forum Open APIs is supported by the FIWARE Data Space connector, and the use of this will also be described. 🌍 FIWARE has been empowering cities worldwide to kick-start their Smart City strategies for years. Over 400 cities across 35 countries are leveraging FIWARE technologies, and the global impact is growing every day. 📖 We are thrilled to share updates on the upcoming 6th edition of the FIWARE4Cities book. This edition will spotlight 167 cities from 26 countries and highlight 176 innovative solutions - with even more cities on our radar! Here‘s some sneak preview: 1️⃣ AsterIoT Platform using FIWARE open standards enhances urban management in Panama City, a new country in Central America joined to the FIWARE community. 2️⃣ Each municipality on the French Riviera can now deploy its own solutions while pooling IT management costs and optimising network coverage using a data platform and IoT network provided by CARF. 3️⃣ The City of Sapporo launched the Data Trading Market, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Japan, enabling the sharing of data owned by both public and private sectors. 4️⃣ Urban data platform was designed with focus on climate and environmental data, the project is poised to become the foundational infrastructure for future smart city implementations in Konstanz. 5️⃣ Based on the FIWARE technologies, the Smart Island Tenerife platform strengthens Tenerife's resilience to environmental challenges and promotes sustainable urban development. 📣 #LearnaboutaerOS: The aerOS Introductory EAB meeting video - "#4: Pilots and Innovation Management" is now availabe! The Innovation Manager of aerOS (Mr. Roger Briz - Innovalia Association) provides an overview of the use case demonstrators of the project, where the innovative technology is being tested. Besides, a hint of the Exploitation Route is outlined. 👆 aerOS is a European research project (Horizon Europe CL4-2021-DATA-01-05) running for 3 years which aims at transparently utilising the resources on the edge-to-cloud computing continuum for enabling applications in an effective manner while incorporating multiple services. The overarching goal of aerOS is to design and build a virtualized, platform-agnostic meta operating system for the IoT edge-cloud continuum. FIWARE is a part of a consortium in this project and participates in the development of architecture for the IoT edge-cloud continuum. Our project is advancing lightweight, electrically autonomous, and digitally networked vehicles - designed for goods and passenger transport. These vehicles operate individually but then couple up with a towing vehicle in convoys to cover longer distances. When they reach their destination, they split up to bring passengers or goods to their final stop. Thanks to the FIWARE platform acting as a hub, continuous data exchange between vehicles, users, and operators is enabled, making autonomous driving more innovative and efficient.
