We're honored to be recognized for our 15-year partnership with ArcVac ForgeCast Private Limited our strategic supplier in India. Together, we're revolutionizing sustainable steel production for the wind industry. The collaboration showcases a joint strategic and proactive approach in driving reliability and sustainability: In our partnership, ArcVac has achieved remarkable improvements, including 20% energy savings through more efficient furnace systems, less material waste and lower CO2 emissions. Their unique setup, combining steelworks and forge under one roof, promotes circular economy, a higher degree of recyclability in steel production. This nomination validates our commitment to being the Partner of Choice for a Sustainable Future and illustrates how important the upstream supply chain is for the global wind energy industry and the production of our Winergy wind gearboxes. Work in progress: We have recently performed a overhaul onto the installed Flender GNBK 585 NAVILUS® marine propulsion gearboxes in the United States. We’ve disassembled both gearboxes any damaged or worn-out parts were replaced and afterwards the gearbox was reassembled again. In conclusion, regular maintenance and repair of gearboxes are crucial to prevent downtime and to ensure that a vessel can continue to perform its essential functions in the maritime industry. The Lean Way Forward – Two Days of Innovation and Exchange! With 25 participants from 11 locations and 7 nations, we spent two inspiring days together at the „The Lean Way Forward” conference. The first day kicked off with exciting networking activities such as Lego® Serious Play®. Our CEO, Andreas Evertz, took the time to discuss Lean culture at Flender with the participants. A highlight of the day was the impressive keynote speech by Andreas Gebhardt, who, as part of our defect culture campaign "FAIL SMART, FAIL FORWARD," vividly demonstrated how we can learn from mistakes – even incorporating juggling into his presentation! On the second day, we delved into breakout sessions covering practical topics like "Scrum," as well as topics such as "Motivation & Change Management" and "Personality types and their Characteristics." The exchange of ideas was valuable and inspiring – everyone was able to take away new impulses for their daily work. The networking dinner in the evening also provided ample opportunities to deepen connections and exchange ideas. What do we need to drive the energy transition in China? In his insightful lecture at WindEnergy Hamburg, Dr.-Ing. Jianhui Gou (勾建辉), Chairman of Flender in China, emphasized the importance of understanding local market needs. Grasping the unique demands of the Chinese market is essential for achieving the optimal balance of reliability, cost, and time in the energy transition. How do we create a level playing field on all global markets? Besides products and technologies, also the political and market framework were focus topics at WindEnergy Hamburg. Doris Bush, our Vice President Corporate Development and Communications shared our thoughts in the VDMA panel discussion "Utilizing Global Market Trends and Industrial Policy: How the European Wind Industry Can Drive Its Competitive Edge and Resilience". With further industry members Doris discussed the current situation of the wind industry in Europe. Important from Flender perspective: close cooperation between politicians and industry. Only common understanding of goals and needs will lead to production conditions that guarantee for sustainable supply chains, not only in low-cost countries.
