At Freudenberg, we celebrate International Women’s Day with a series of events for all genders all over the globe. At the main celebration, around 150 colleagues gathered, joined by our CHRO Esther Maria Loidl, Head of Corporate HR Sarah O'Hare and more than 500 participants online to network, learn from each other and exchange ideas. International guest speakers shared inspiring insights on the benefits of an inclusive work environment and the contribution women make towards society and our company. Neuroscientist Dr. Laura Wuensch uncovered the science behind diversity with us and explained how inclusive workplaces unlock creativity, engagement and long-term success. Our colleague Chun Miao from China shared her professional journey and how she supports her team members. Lisa McKenzie from the U.S. shared valuable insights on how she fosters inclusion and success at Freudenberg. International Women’s Day is an important cornerstone of Freudenberg’s corporate culture where every employee is valued, respected and heard. Accelerating Forward Together: Since January, Freudenberg has been an official partner of Formula Student Germany—an international design competition where student teams from around the world present and test racing cars they have developed themselves. In January, we had the great opportunity to meet the TU Munich racing team on the campus in Garching for an exciting workshop! Fourteen dedicated team members of the TU FAST racing team, from a wide range of disciplines, met with four company representatives from Freudenberg Chemical Specialities (FCS), Chem-Trend, Klüber Lubrication, and omniTECHNIK Mikroverkapselungs GmbH - SurTec Group affiliate. Together they discussed and worked hard to develop ideas and solutions for racing success. Whether release agents, fasteners or lubricants: it was a spin through the world of the Freudenberg Group and FCS - including our impressive portfolio. We shared our concentrated know-how and creative ideas with the team. We are impressed by the passion and existing expertise of the TU FAST racing team and are keeping our fingers crossed for a successful racing season! Breaking down barriers for children from families with difficult financial backgrounds by improving their access to education and essential needs is the idea behind a project led by employees of Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions (FHCS) in Rochdale, UK. Their dedication to the non-profit “The Lighthouse” sends a powerful message of solidarity and cohesion within the local community. With the help of the Freudenberg Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, colleagues from FHCS provide support on multiple levels to help improve the lives of those children. Throughout 2024, various activities were organized. That involved a hands-on beekeeping experience day, where the children learned about the vital role bees play in our ecosystem. Another highlight were the live science experiments that were supported by FHCS volunteers, enabling the kids to dive into the world of science understanding elementary processes of life. “When the children tell us it was the best day of their lives, we know we’ve made a real difference. Sometimes, a single ray of light is enough to brighten an entire life. And as volunteers, we take so much from these experiences – the connections we make enrich our lives in ways words can’t fully capture,” says project coordinator Lauren Matthews from FHCS. #FreudenbergCSR #innovatingtogether
