🚘 From Classic Cars to Cutting-Edge Tech 🚀 In the midst of true oldtimers like a Mercedes Benz Adenauer, a Porsche 356 and many "sporty Italians"🏎️ the aviation industry gathered at the invitation of IPS a SITA company to discuss topics that will shape the airports of the future. Back in the days when the vintage cars, now housed in the Classic Remise Düsseldorf, were still a common sight on the roads, self-service wasn't exactly in vogue. Most services were provided in person. 💁♂️ At the Aviation Forum, the focus was of course on solutions such as 🧳 self-bag-drop, smart payment, self boarding. But the lectures also concentrated on other innovations to improve the passenger experience, such as the autonomous driving wheelchair at London Gatwick. New airport projects were also presented, for example the Terminal 6 JFK and the hurricane “Irma” recovery and modernization plan for Princess Juliana International Airport - SXM. By the way: It was great to see so many women in the driver's seat – not in a classic car but on the stage, bringing a new dynamic to the industry ✈️ 🛫Lieselotte Neste 🛫Karen Ali 🛫Kristin Klemetsen-Morais 🛫Anja Dauser 🛫Jennifer Schade We thank our GATE member IPS a SITA company for this excellent event and the great organization. It was again a pleasure to meet many people from the association & well-know airports and to make new contacts. Two hundred and fifty-two ... that's a considerable number of exhibitions that the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action plans to support via the AMP (Foreign Trade Fair Programme) funding instrument in 2025 - in 51 countries, above all in the USA, China and the UAE. The support for trade fair presences in India will increase by 50% from 12 to 18 shows and in Saudi Arabia even 7 exhibition participations will now be funded, after one in 2024. With the inter airport South East Asia in Singapore, the Dubai Airport Show, the Airports Council International - North America Conference & Exhibition in Toronto, the IndiAirport and the Saudi Airport Exhibition five (!) airport technology exhibitions will be supported in order to present sustainable and efficient solutions from the GATE - The Airport Technology Network. Many thanks to the BMWK and AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. Together with GATE Future, inter airport Europe and Passenger Terminal EXPO & CONFERENCE ✈️ , the event year 2025 is already well filled. And we offer our members a wide range of opportunities to demonstrate their products and services and to make new contacts and expand existing ones. At yesterday's autumn meeting of AUMA's Foreign Trade Fairs Working Group, the AMP was presented in detail, new online features for applications were introduced and the accompanying programme for Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, was presented. The meeting was hosted by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH with the new Managing Director Marius J. Berlemann. It was interesting for players in the airport world to hear that Messe Düsseldorf has taken over XPONENTIAL Europe. A growing trade fair focussing on new mobility, including autonomous driving and UAM. Very exciting for many of our members.
#fraport #frankfurtairport #BMDV #NOW #BAV #BaF #GettingGreener #DestinationNetZero #ConnectingTheWorldWithTomorrow
