We’re thrilled to announce that Waymo is joining us for the first time at the GTF Connect Event in LA on November 15! 🚀 We’re excited to welcome Adam L., Head of Sustainability at Waymo, to the panel discussion "Is Sustainable Mobility the Key to Transforming Cities at Speed?" This panel will explore how affordable, clean electromobility can become a reality for cities globally. Key questions include: What role do governments play in driving inclusive mobility through incentives? How can the private sector innovate to serve diverse communities? And what actions can individuals take to support the decarbonization of urban transport? As our co-founder Nico Rosberg noted, autonomous vehicles hold incredible potential to reduce traffic accidents by up to 90%. Join us for this essential conversation on how we can accelerate the shift towards sustainable mobility and a greener future! #SustainableMobility #AutonomousDriving #Innovation #GreenTech #AV #Mobility #GTFConnect #Waymo
Wow, what a surreal experience. I ordered a Waymo car, and it swiftly arrived to pick me up with no one inside! All that was missing was the option to select the 'Nico Rosberg high-performance driving mode.' Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are an incredible technological breakthrough, with the potential to reduce traffic crashes by up to 90%. Since 94% of accidents are due to human error, the impact of AVs could save up to $190B per year in the U.S. alone. But scaling this technology comes with challenges. During my recent trip to San Francisco, I experienced firsthand how these cars are already driving through the city streets. However, the real challenge is scaling this solution due to the astronomical hardware costs, which are up to $250,000 per vehicle in some cases. Europe also faces regulatory challenges, like Germany, where companies like Vay lead the way in driverless mobility. Still, progress remains slow compared to the U.S., which is one of the reasons why Vay launched their commercial service in Las Vegas. Many believe we're still years away from fully autonomous driving, but from what I've experienced, the technology is already here. It's the next phase of scaling and regulations that's holding us back from seeing AVs everywhere. The U.S. AV market is expected to grow by 350% by 2030, reaching over $75B. But how can Europe catch up? And what role do you think regulations will play in accelerating or delaying this transformation? Let's discuss your thoughts in the comments! 👇 #AutonomousDriving #Innovation #AV #Technology #Mobility
