'Arrival' is our new project, supporting 90 young migrants (14-18 years old) in Turin, helping them navigate education, language learning, and social integration. The Challenge: Many of these young people face barriers to education and career opportunities. Without guidance, they risk dropping out and missing out on their potential. 🚀 Celebrating Success! 🌟 We are thrilled to share an incredible milestone from our project "Dance Creates Self Confidence" in São Paulo! Doro, Lufthansa flight attendant and project coordinator, had the honor of receiving the keys to the newly acquired land. This ground will soon host a new sports and cultural center, benefiting 400 children and young adults by providing a safe space for dancing, connecting, and other activities. "It was a goosebump moment," Doro said. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing partners Mastercard and Stiftung RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V. for making this possible! After the key handover, Doro sat down with the managing director of our local partner NGO and the architect to plan and prepare the next steps. 🌍 Menstrual Empowerment: Breaking Barriers, Changing Lives 🌸 In many rural areas of Ghana, access to menstrual products is either too expensive or completely unavailable. At the same time, menstrual health education is lacking, and deep-rooted stigma forces many girls into silence and shame. As a result, young girls resort to unsafe alternatives, leading to health risks and school absenteeism. That’s where Menstrual Empowerment comes in. This initiative, driven by help alliance, Lufthansa, and the Crimson Liberation Hub, consisting of dedicated students from Heritage Christian University , aims to create sustainable, long-term solutions for menstrual health in Ghana by: ✔️ Producing reusable sanitary pads for underprivileged girls ♻️ ✔️ Providing menstrual health education in schools 📖 ✔️ Breaking taboos and challenging societal stigma 🚀 ✔️ Engaging prominent Ghanaians to amplify the message on social media 📢 The impact so far? 500+ girls now have access to reusable menstrual pads, and 1,500+ students have received crucial menstrual health education. Beyond this, the project is: ✨ Improving girls’ health and well-being ✨ Ensuring regular school attendance ✨ Creating jobs for women through pad production ✨ Advancing gender equality and environmental sustainability This is more than a health initiative—it’s a movement towards equity, dignity, and empowerment. Football for Future – Empowering Youth Through Sport & Education ⚽🎓 In the suburbs of Santo Domingo, thousands of Haitian refugee children & youth have found more than just a game—they’ve found hope, education, and a safe space to grow. Since 2010, our local partner has provided over 2,000 young people with a structured path to a better future. The program ensures that school attendance or vocational training is a prerequisite for participation, offering students: ✅ Nutritious meals ✅ Homework support & education ✅ Soccer training for personal & social development Why now? The project’s soccer pitches are in urgent need of renovation. A modern artificial turf & irrigation system will allow these children to train safely, regardless of weather conditions—ensuring that sport remains a powerful tool for social integration & equal opportunities. Our Community Mental Health Center provides assessments, counseling, and therapy, while also offering livelihood programs tailored for adolescent mothers. Through programming and computer courses, we equip them with skills that enhance their career prospects and independence. 🌍 Perspectives & Tourism – Colombia In Punta Arena, we help women build sustainable careers as certified eco-guides and entrepreneurs in ecological and cultural services. This initiative not only provides them with a steady income but also strengthens the local economy and breaks the cycle of poverty. Empowering Students for Life – Introducing "School for Life"! In Germany, educational success still depends heavily on parental support. Meanwhile, 85% of Germans believe that schools fail to adequately prepare young people for real life. How can we change that? Our new project 'School for Life' connects students with trained 'LifeTeachers' – volunteers from various fields who share their expertise on practical life skills and career guidance during missed lessons. Whether in-person or digital, these sessions help bridge the gap between school and real-world experience. 💡 Through an app, schools can request targeted 'LifeLessons', ensuring students gain the knowledge they need to navigate their futures successfully. This initiative supports schools across Germany, focusing on Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt, where the Lufthansa Group is strongly represented and five schools with special challenges receive startup funding. Up to 10,000 students per year will benefit from this program, gaining valuable skills and perspectives to pursue school and vocational qualifications with confidence.
