By centralizing data and streamlining communication, Cosmos is helping us to address operational challenges in ground handling faster and together with our service partners. Hi, I’m Vanessa, part of ProTeam Generation 38! As part of the trainee program, we have the opportunity to join a long-haul Crew Experience Flight as an additional member of the Lufthansa crew. This unique experience allows us to immerse ourselves in the exciting, complex, and dynamic day-to-day operations of our flying colleagues. ✈️ For me, this was especially meaningful. As a former Lufthansa flight attendant, I was thrilled to step back into the cabin after years of studying and once again support my colleagues onboard. Having the chance to care for our guests independently was truly the highlight of my journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for this experience. What continues to inspire me is the strong sense of connection within the ever-changing teams and the empathetic approach we take with our guests—even in the most challenging situations. With the Optimized Bag Drop application, the Swiss International Air Lines Business Management E-Processes team has introduced a simple scan of the baggage tag to support our check-in agents at the “Fast Bag Drop” counters at Zurich Airport. This customized, intuitive software offers our agents a perfect solution when there is a lack of space in the check-in area and therefore not enough self-drop machines can be provided. The results? Significantly faster check-in times, reduced waiting times at the fast bag drop counters, improved passenger satisfaction and the ability to handle a higher volume of baggage, redefining efficiency at its core ✅. As of today, the Lufthansa Group holds a stake of 41 percent in ITA Airways.  The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) have appointed new members to the Board of Directors of ITA Airways. As agreed, two out of five members of ITA Airways' executive board are nominated by the Lufthansa Group with immediate effect: Joerg Eberhart is appointed as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ITA Airways. This also makes him a managing member of the Board of Directors of the Italian airline, which is based in Rome. Lorenza Maggio will take over the position of “Chief Strategy and Integration Officer” (CSIO) and will become a member of the Board of Directors of ITA Airways. Michael Trestl will be responsible for the holistic integration of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group as “ITA Implementation Officer” and will transfer from Austrian Airlines to the Lufthansa Group headquarters in Frankfurt for this purpose.
