🚀 Master hairstylist and HSE creator Svenja Simmons: From small town to TV studio - her success story in an interview with Austria's biggest women's magazine Madonna In an inspiring interview on ‘Madonna TV’, hairstylist Svenja Simmons shares her journey from opening her first salon to becoming a popular celebrity styling hotspot in Düsseldorf. For Svenja, simply cutting hair was never enough - she strived for more, and her efforts have paid off. Today, she is not only established in the top segment of the industry, but has also created her own haircare line with her brand ORTIE & me, which is exclusively available at HSE. 🌱 A very personal moment: Svenja talks about her love of nettles in the interview with oe24 & Mediengruppe ÖSTERREICH presenter Bianca Speck. At the age of five, Svenja had to face the challenge of complete hair loss - she found the solution in a homemade nettle brew. This experience shaped her philosophy and her product line, which focuses on hair growth and scalp care. The launch of the brand at HSE in May 2024 was a huge success: products such as her hairbrush made from sustainable coconut fibres and the Scalp Balancing Elixir sold out immediately and have been delighting our customers ever since. Her mantra for all those who want to achieve great things: ‘Life is not a dress rehearsal - just do it!’

Self-responsibility: a big word! 💪🏼 Last week, our Young Talents had the opportunity to take a closer look at the topic self-responsibility as part of a workshop. Together with Andrea Seeländer they spent the day laying the foundations for discovering, unfolding and developing their own potential. Young people take on a lot of responsibility when they start their vocational training. It’s not just the associated rights and obligations under employment law that suddenly play an important role. Mastering the subject matter, understanding the organization and successfully working together along the value chain also require responsible action. We specifically support our Young Talents in growing into their own responsibility and also provide them with the necessary tools. In this way, we support the development of them into reliable, competent and self-confident people. The most important learnings for the Young Talents: - Self-responsibility is a great thing, it allows you to determine and shape your own life: What goal should be achieved, what resources are already available and what is still needed? - Goals can be formulated and achieved more easily using the SMART method 🎯 - Stumbling blocks can be avoided with good preparation when achieving goals All in all, our Young Talents made wonderful use of the opportunity to work together as a team on the topic and gain a new perspective on their own responsibility and self-efficacy. „It is not only what we do, but also what we do not, for which we are accountable.“ - Molière #youngtalents #hse #selfresponsibility

🌐 AI revolution in customer service The use of AI is changing entire industries - and customer service is no exception. A recent article in DER SPIEGEL sheds light on how companies are using conversational AI to process customer enquiries faster, more efficiently and in a more personalised way. AI-supported solutions help to answer standard enquiries automatically, while human employees can focus on more complex issues. This technology offers enormous potential for increasing efficiency and improving the customer experience. Our ‘EASy AI’ phonebot is presented as a prime example of how AI can provide efficient support in customer service when call volumes are high: Up to 600 calls in parallel are handled entirely by our AI - thus reducing waiting times and relieving our teams in the call centres. On top of this, the phonebot takes on cross-sell activities by making personalised product recommendations to customers, thereby increasing sales. Together with Parloa and MUUUH! Next GmbH, we introduced the technology in our customer service as early as 2022. Our vision was a modern conversational AI that not only improves the customer experience, but also helps us achieve our economic goals. Our vision was a modern conversational AI that not only improves the customer experience, but also helps us achieve our commercial goals. 💡 At HSE, we are convinced that the use of AI will permanently change the future of customer service. Projects such as ‘EASy AI’ show that innovation and technology can go hand in hand with excellent customer service. Read more in the SPIEGEL+ article 👇

How can we stay young and healthy for longer? We are living longer than ever, but at the same time we are potentially ill for longer. As a result, more and more people are interested in methods that not only slow down the aging process but also enhance physical and mental well-being in old age. We will delve into the topic of longevity in detail with longevity expert Nina Ruge on October 20th and November 17th in the health talk "StaYoung with Nina Ruge". ‘Eat yourself young’ – Nina Ruge consistently demonstrates that these three words are not just a catchy phrase, but a revolutionary scientific insight. She has been working intensively on the topic of healthy longevity for many years. With her Instagram channel ‘nina.ruge.official’ and podcast staYoung on Spotify and YouTube, she reaches hundreds of thousands of people each month, guiding them toward a long and, most importantly, healthy life. ‘Nina's passion for her heartfelt project longevity is contagious,’ says Sandra Rehm, CEO of HSE. ‘Our viewers can look forward to two informative and inspiring live programmes in which the health expert will provide exciting insights into the latest scientific findings on the subject of longevity.’ 📅 Tune in on October 20th and November 17th, both at 4 pm, live on HSE.

🍎💪🏻How can we easily integrate exercise, a healthy diet and relaxation into our everyday lives? At a “Healthy Happy Hour” last Tuesday in Hamburg, Barbara Klein explained how she became one of the most in-demand fitness and health experts, sharing numerous valuable tips. The attending print and TV journalists first listened eagerly and then joined Barbara in a workout. With her high-quality nutritional supplements and innovative sports and wellness equipment, above all the popular FLEXI-BAR® developed by her, Barbara Klein pursues a holistic approach to health – long before “holistic health” became an international trend. The new activewear line “styletics by Barbara” complements her range and is also available at HSE. The “Healthy Happy Hour” at the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Hamburg offered something for everyone: positive energy, stimulating conversations and a couple of ‘aha’ moments. A big thank you to the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and its attentive staff, who helped to make this invitation something special.

Feedback helps us to recognise and promote strengths, uncover and overcome problems and grow together. In September, we held the training format ‘Brave Dialogue - Potential-developing communication is a mindset’ for the second time. In this training session, we defined together what it means to create a culture at HSE in which continuous feedback becomes the norm. 🎯 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥: feedback should be seen as an opportunity to learn and grow, which is essential for individual and professional development. This benefits not only the individual colleagues and teams, but also the entire organisation. The basis of all this is the growth mindset. People with this mindset see challenges as opportunities for growth and view mistakes as valuable learning opportunities. This attitude promotes continuous development. ❗It is 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 to us that we create a culture in which every employee and every team can continue to develop through courageous communication and continuous feedback. FACES OF HSE - Today with Judith Kemper When did you join HSE and what is your job? I joined HSE in September 2021 as Head of Fulfillment, responsible for the logistics center in Greven. Since my promotion in April 2023, as Director SCM & Fulfillment, I have also been responsible for Procurement Logistics and, since summer 2023, also for the Quality Control department in Greven. In a nutshell: My team is responsible for the entire flow of goods at HSE, from procurement to delivery to the end customer. Name 3 qualities/key words that you think people should have for your job/department? Logistics at HSE moves several million items of goods a year. Here it is particularly important that quality, lead time and costs are adhered to. In this respect, a candidate for SCM & Fulfillment should have at least 3 areas of interest: 1) Enjoy process analysis - Optimizing a small wheel in logistics usually means big savings for the company as a whole. 2) Affinity for figures / cost analyses - We live from data in logistics, interpreting it correctly, drawing the necessary conclusions and making decisions based on this is the core activity of my colleagues in the team. 3) Personal Touch - There are no hierarchies in the SCM & Fulfillment team. We help each other in day-to-day business and everyone contributes their own personal ideas. We benefit from the diversity in the team and the different perspectives on a topic. It's all about being open and having fun contributing to the team. What makes HSE an attractive employer for you? My team finds the flexibility of the working day particularly appealing. This is not usual in the market, especially in logistics. Of course, we also have peak phases during which we have an “all-hands-on-deck” mentality as a team. But especially during off-season periods, we offer our colleagues the best possible flexibility in the form of flexitime arrangements and home office days, as well as regular overtime reduction in the form of flexitime days (also used by the team for extended weekends 😉). HSE offers the most entertaining form of shopping - how do you and your department contribute directly or indirectly to this shopping experience? The SCM & Fulfillment team is responsible for the customer experience when receiving parcels. Timely delivery and the high-quality appearance of the parcel when it is opened are essential for us, so that our customers are happy to order from HSE again and again. #team #job #wearehiring
