We are honored to be highlighted by the IEEE TEMS: Technology and Engineering Management Society. Thanks to the exceptional organization by our committees and the local team UNINOVA, the event was a great success, prompting the government to invite us back for future editions! We’re excited that the ICE 2025 will be hosted by Raul Poler at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in Spain, with a good chance of returning to Madeira for ICE 2026.
The 2024 IEEE ICE/ITMC International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation, 30th-anniversary edition, was part of the Madeira Digital Transformation Week held in June on the island of Madeira (Portugal), hosted by the UNINOVA team and led by Ricardo Gonçalves and his team. IEEE ICE, the International Conference on Engineering, Technology, and Innovation, developed from an early focus on concurrent engineering in the general engineering process, and its inclusion in the corporation and in networks. International policymakers and industry are facing the challenge of balancing the needs of society with engineering appropriate technology and service solutions with sustainable business models. This is increasingly important as healthcare budgets are reduced and pressure grows to find sustainable energy solutions, combat social isolation, and respond more effectively to crisis and disaster management challenges, hence the 2024 theme of “Digital Transformation on Engineering, Technology and Innovation.” The conference was superbly organized by all the committees and the local Uninova team, and augmented with a keynote speech at the Gala & Awards Dinner by Andrea Belz, President of IEEE TEMS. Her keynote highlighted the critical role that IEEE TEMS plays in fostering innovation, leadership, and collaboration across engineering disciplines. By addressing the challenges and opportunities in technology management, she provided the audience with a clear roadmap for navigating the complexities of digital transformation in today’s rapidly evolving landscape. The conference and the whole Madeira Digital Transformation were such a great success that the government asked Ricardo to do it again at a future date 😁 Next year, ICE 2025 will be hosted by the team led by Raul Poler, Director of CIGIP (www.cigip.org) at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in Spain. There is a good chance that ICE 2026 will again be in Funchal, Madeira, as part of another Madeira Digital Transformation Week.
