It's almost impossible to imagine life without packaging in our modern world. From the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed, we interact with countless packaged products and single-use items. However, as our global population grows and becomes more affluent, we face a critical challenge: our demand for packaging materials and the waste we generate skyrocket. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation estimates that uncollected plastic packaging waste alone represents a lost value of $80-120 billion annually. But the cost isn't just economic. Large amounts of packaging waste escape formal collection and recycling systems, eventually polluting our environment and ecosystems. To address these challenges, we need to rethink our approach to packaging fundamentally. Enter the #CircularEconomy - a model that is regenerative by design. At INDEED, we've developed a Packaging Framework (see image) that guides our approach to sustainable packaging solutions. Schon in den Zirkulationsmodus geschaltet, oder dreht ihr noch am Wachstumskreisel? Unser #Wirtschaftssystem und die #Natur könnten unterschiedlicher kaum sein: Während die Natur in dynamischen Kreisläufen chillt, rast die lineare Wirtschaft wie auf einem endlosen Hamsterrad dem ewigen Wachstum hinterher. Klingt anstrengend, oder? 🥵 Die #CircularEconomy ist inzwischen in aller Munde – aber wer sich damit beschäftigt, merkt schnell: Circular Economy ist kein „walk in the park“. Es ist ein ziemlich komplizierter Tanz, und der erste Schritt will wohlüberlegt sein (vor allem, wenn man nicht gleich auf die Nase fallen will). Ich bin begeistert, dass wir zusammen mit Simon Berkler und TheDive eine Sonderedition ihrer Stellar Approach Masterclass mit Fokus auf Zirkularität erarbeiten durften. 💪 Die Schulung von von Simon, Michael und mir durchgeführt! “Circular” ist eines der vier Stellar-Prinzipien aus dem teambasierten Transformationsansatz für eine regenerative Wirtschaft (von TheDive). INDEED Monthly Recap | August Edition ☀️   As we navigated through a month filled with "Out of Office" replies, we made significant strides and gathered valuable insights. Here's a snapshot of what we learned and accomplished this month:   ◻️ GPT and similar AI tools can significantly reduce the time spent on standardized reporting; instead of manually collecting information from different sources, you can simply click and review.  ▫️ INDEED employed large language models (LLMs) to generate automated, standardized reports and streamline the internal documentation process for a global houseware brand. ◻️ Bioluminescence in sustainable lighting shows promise, but the market isn't ready for a full-scale product launch yet. ▫️ Our team of engineers advanced its research by developing and delivering three biodegradable lighting devices. ◻️ Scope 3 emissions account for nearly 90% of a company’s total carbon footprint. ▫️ We deepened our understanding through a 'Lunch & Learn' with Normative.io, analyzing Scope 1-3 emissions data to refine sustainability strategies. ◻️ Scenario Planning proved to be a highly effective way to anticipate and prepare for future uncertainties and emerging business opportunities. ▫️Working with Covestro's cross-functional teams, INDEED helped define its future vision and strategic direction by developing plausible scenarios with potential business context.
