  • Data sharing sounds easy. But doing it right, is not. Our team has been hard at work on bringing one of the most crucial assets for trustful data sharing the 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹 on its path to standardization ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ejxcDcZk This protocol is not just a technical innovation; it is a strategic enabler for the data-driven economy. It orchestrates the necessary steps for two or more parties to share data, including requesting a catalogue, negotiating a contract, and managing the transfer process. Our focus paper describes the choices IDSA made and why they – in our view – form the best path to standardized data space technology. It’s the essence of the last seven years of IDSA work and now ready to be pushed for standardization by the end of 2024. We believe that by embracing our Dataspace Protocol, you can enhance interoperability and efficiency in your business – and boost your data space technology. We welcome any collaboration or discussion to further these efforts together – now is the perfect time to start!

  • A data space in action! Big news from UCIMU - SISTEMI PER PRODURRE Group and IDSA: At the upcoming 34.BI-MU, UCIMU will present its Machine Tools Data Space Demonstrator – a first look at how the future of machine tool manufacturing could evolve through #DataSpaces. This demonstrator shows how a secure, federated data space can connect machine manufacturers, service providers, and users to enable #PredictiveMaintenance, enhance services, and ensure seamless interoperability. By leveraging the IDS architecture, every participant in the data space can manage their own data while sharing it under trusted, transparent rules. The demonstrator will be a live showcase of how these data-driven interactions work, with practical examples of how machine tool data can reduce downtime, optimize performance, and open new revenue streams for businesses through advanced services. Join us at the BIMU exhibition in Milan on October 10 (Hall 11, Stand F26) or catch the live stream to see this innovation in action! If you're attending, be sure to connect with Giulia Giussani. She'll be on hand to answer any questions you have about data spaces and IDSA. 📹 https://www.bimu.it/en/ 📖 More detailed information, check out the latest blog: https://lnkd.in/e6PWiCt4

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 (𝗜𝗗𝗦-𝗥𝗔𝗠): 𝗔 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eeCU-EWA The IDS-RAM is a comprehensive guide for designing, building, and operating data spaces. Whether you're new to the concept or deeply embedded in data space projects, the RAM provides practical guidance across multiple layers – from business models to technical systems. One of the standout features of the IDS-RAM is its layered approach, breaking down complex architectures into five key areas: Business, Functional, Information, System, and Process. Each layer plays a critical role in ensuring seamless data sharing, trust, and interoperability between participants. What makes the IDS-RAM even more impactful is the continuous collaboration and maintenance within the IDSA community. Through workshops and member contributions, the model is constantly evolving to reflect technological advancements and industry needs. The current version, IDS-RAM 4, is available now, and work is already underway on the fifth edition, which will introduce more modular content and place a stronger focus on decentralized governance models. Interested in learning more about the path the IDS-RAM 5.0 will take? Explore the latest blog!

  • Global data spaces take shape: T-Systems International and NTT Communications lead the way in Japan T-Systems and NTT Communications are joining forces to accelerate the growth of data ecosystems in Japan by providing an innovative test environment for data spaces. Leveraging open-source technologies from the Eclipse Foundation projects, such as #TractusX. Set for launch in Q4 2024, the project will test multi-regional interactions between European and Japanese #DataSpaces. Hosted on T-Systems' cloud infrastructure in Germany and accessed via NTT Communications' network in Japan, this initiative aims to expand data space adoption across Japanese companies like Fujitsu and OMRON. Our local IDSA Hub, facilitated by Universität Tokio & Data Society Alliance, is playing a central role in this initiative – a big thank you for your outstanding efforts! This partnership sets the stage for a truly interconnected global data ecosystem, strengthening data sovereignty and collaboration across borders. You want to learn more? The partners will present their initiative on October 9 at the Data Spaces Discovery Day in Tokyo. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e9GfzW5V

  • 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁’𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gD2SXv5Y After two years of exploration and 16 insightful issues, we’ve reached the final edition of the Data Connector Report. This venture has been nothing short of revolutionary for us at IDSA and, we hope, for you as well. When we began this project in November 2022, our mission was clear: to break down the complex world of data connectors and show why they are such a fundamental component of #DataSpaces. Throughout these issues, we’ve not only explained what connectors are but also highlighted their unique value and real-world adoption stories. One of the most significant moments was when the stable version of the #DataspaceProtocol (DSP) was released: a game-changer, laying the foundation for true interoperability across different systems. But the journey doesn’t stop here. As the Dataspace Protocol moves closer to becoming an international standard, we are gearing up for the next phase—introducing the Data Space Connector Report. Launching this November, the new report will focus exclusively on connectors that support the DSP and have passed testing with the Technology Compatibility Kit (TCK). This report will serve as the authoritative guide, keeping you informed on connectors that meet the highest standards of compliance and trust. It’s a bittersweet moment, closing this chapter, but it’s also an exciting time as we prepare for the next step. We are grateful for the support and engagement of our readers and contributors. Stay tuned for Data Space Connector Report!
