Data sharing sounds easy. But doing it right, is not. Our team has been hard at work on bringing one of the most crucial assets for trustful data sharing the 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹 on its path to standardization ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ejxcDcZk This protocol is not just a technical innovation; it is a strategic enabler for the data-driven economy. It orchestrates the necessary steps for two or more parties to share data, including requesting a catalogue, negotiating a contract, and managing the transfer process. Our focus paper describes the choices IDSA made and why they – in our view – form the best path to standardized data space technology. It’s the essence of the last seven years of IDSA work and now ready to be pushed for standardization by the end of 2024. We believe that by embracing our Dataspace Protocol, you can enhance interoperability and efficiency in your business – and boost your data space technology. We welcome any collaboration or discussion to further these efforts together – now is the perfect time to start!

Whether you're new to the concept or deeply embedded in data space projects, the RAM provides practical guidance across multiple layers – from business models to technical systems. One of the standout features of the IDS-RAM is its layered approach, breaking down complex architectures into five key areas: Business, Functional, Information, System, and Process. Each layer plays a critical role in ensuring seamless data sharing, trust, and interoperability between participants. What makes the IDS-RAM even more impactful is the continuous collaboration and maintenance within the IDSA community. Through workshops and member contributions, the model is constantly evolving to reflect technological advancements and industry needs. The current version, IDS-RAM 4, is available now, and work is already underway on the fifth edition, which will introduce more modular content and place a stronger focus on decentralized governance models.
