Yeah, we know that LinkedIn is a professional platform. Particularly when the mobility industry is determined to make it a hauntingly good one this year: 🎃Chemnitzer Verkehrs AG, for example, is hosting a Good Ghosts Party at its depot, while 🎃Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe is offering ‘spooky rides’ on the Schlossgartenbahn for the first time. In Bavaria, meanwhile, a 🎃bus driver is decorating the school bus with cobwebs, giant spiders and ghosts. It’s eerily good! Pushing forward sustainable traffic based on public transport solutions does not mean to completely demonising the use of private cars. Especially in rural areas lack of public transportation means that many people are still dependent on their cars. Good news from the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund KVV! The ‘Kombilösung Karlsruhe’ (combined transport solution), i.e. the relocation of parts of the inner-city tram and car traffic underground, has been nominated for the German Transport Transition Award of Allianz Pro Schiene.👏 The project is shortlisted for the Special Prize for Building Culture, with the winner to be announced at a ceremony in November. With the award, the organisers are honouring projects that promote the sustainable transport turnaround in Germany, and encourage others to follow suit. 💪 The combined transport solution is just one of many municipal, academic and corporate projects in Karlsruhe that are making mobility more efficient and, thus, urban life more attractive. IT-TRANS @ Innotrans - it was a pleasure joining the ride! ✅️ Digitalization is everywhere. From bus brake maintenance to sophisticated passenger information solutions: there is (almost) nothing that cannot be digitally measured, controlled or evaluated. ✅️ This confirms what the IT-TRANS community has known for a long time: IT-TRANS, with its specialization on IT and digitalization, is needed more than ever! ✅️ The downside is that wherever systems are connected, there are risks. And it doesn't have to be a hacker attack; a system failure without an adequate emergency plan can also be devastating. Cyber Security is here to stay.
