  • 🚞 In rural areas where public transport connections are often inadequate, it is perhaps not surprising that the majority of people rely on their cars. Yet digital solutions can help reverse this trend by making bus services more flexible and attractive for users, and more efficient for providers. As part of our ‘Start-ups in focus’ series, here we shine the spotlight on a company that was not only showcased in the IT-TRANS Start-up Zone this year, but also won the Future Mobility Award 2024 for innovative and sustainable transport solutions. Allow us to introduce Nemi, a Barcelona-based company which has developed an independent software tool that provides on-demand bus services and optimises routes. 📰 Find out more in our interview with Abigail Meuli, R&D Project Manager -> https://lnkd.in/gGHhndBs

  • Although the pandemic has led to many companies establishing regulations for flexible and remote working, many employees still commute to their place of employment, and many of them still by car. 🚗 What benefits companies can offer their employees with a digital mobility budget and how such a budget helps convincing more people to switch to public transport, Mobiko's Managing Director Andreas Reichert will explain to us in our second interview of our start-up series: 👉 https://lnkd.in/ezwWS6Qu

  • 🥁 Our drumsticks sure like to travel! They recently arrived in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, tucked in the luggage of our Product Owner Markus Kocea. And, of course, Markus relied on public transport to navigate this sparsely populated archipelago. As in all places where there are few people and long unpopulated distances to cover, the intercity buses 🚌 only run a few times a day - but they are cheap, reliable and sometimes on-demand in more remote regions. Strangely, the highlight of his trip to Scotland was the ‘refreshing weather' ☁️! And the sky, too, which looks like it's been painted by artist Caspar David Friedrich. Markus also loved the cultural programme. As the days are very short in the Outer Hebrides, the locals make the most of summer by packing the longer days with festivals and concerts 🎵 – so there's plenty going on! ❓ What transport highlights have you discovered on holiday? Perhaps you or someone you know is currently in Paris for the Olympics, and can tell us how easy it is to get around. We’d love to know! 💚

𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘’𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 At this year’s IT-TRANS, an innovative logistic concept from LogIKTram was presented at the Karlsruhe Mobility Lab stand: a technically modified tram which switches freight trans-portation from road to rail. 🚋 How does it work? An electrically assisted bicycle trailer travels independently into the designated area of the streetcar and the packages are then taken over by a 🚲bicycle courier at the corresponding destination stop. We think this idea is not only awesome but also super sustainable! Besides reducing urban traffic, it can also increase the capacity of the trams. 💪 👀 Find out more: https://brnw.ch/21wLBPT ❓ What do you think? We’d love to know your thoughts! 🚀Let’s start our start-up interview series with endereco - Adressprüfung für Webshops, a company dedicated to data verfication! In the public transport sector in particular, this provides crucial information on customer movements, passenger behaviour and capacity planning, all of which can be used to schedule routes and timetables in advance. But in order to be reliable, that data must be properly maintained and protected. That’s why endereco develops Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products to check and validate customer data. 📰Find out more in our interview with endereco’s CEO Robert Rieser!-> https://brnw.ch/21wLxVb #startup #ittrans #mobility #innovation #interview

  • Karlsruhe - Number 1 for public transport🥇 As IT-TRANS exhibitors and attendees, you know as well as we do that public transport in Karlsruhe is truly exemplary. This was confirmed by recent analysis of such services across 25 of the most populous German cities, with Karlsruhe and Hanover claiming joint top spot ahead of Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. 🚄Two factors that contributed to Karlsruhe’s top ranking were the efficiency of its services and impressive connectivity. For us, the trade fair team, it's nice to not only talk about modern local transport based on the latest digital solutions at IT-TRANS in Karlsruhe, but also experience it on our doorstep. And for a trade fair venue, good local transport is definitely a massive advantage, as we’re sure you’ll agree! 🙌 Source (in German): https://brnw.ch/21wLev6

Our drumsticks 🥁 are still on the road and recently arrived in Lisbon, together with Belen Meller, our Marketing Manager, who has been part of our team since May. Some of you may have met her at IT-TRANS 24, but for those of you yet to do so, she’s the main point of contact if you’re interested in a media partnership, advertising materials, newsletter placements or social media support for the 2026 event. 💪 So what about traffic in Lisbon? With its multiple modes of transport, the city is a good example of a highly efficient and reliable urban transport network: Metro lines, buses, boats, funiculars and its famous red and yellow line trams are designed to carry millions of locals and tourists every year, allowing passengers to get anywhere with a single rechargeable card. This convenient ticketing system connects all transportation options across the city and could not be simpler. So if you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth exploring this historic city via unrivalled public transport options. 🚋 #PublicMobilityWorldwide #ittrans #teamtime #summer
