Das ESA BIC NRW ist heute auf dem 👽 Future Tech Fest 👾 in Düsseldorf mit über 18 Start-ups vertreten. Auf dem Messestand präsentieren die jungen Unternehmen ihre Innovationen rund um das Thema Raumfahrt. Finanziert wird das ESA BIC Nordrhein-Westfalen durch das Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW (MWIKE), der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation (ESA) und der Raumfahrtagentur im Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtzentrum (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.). Die Inkubatees des ESA BIC haben bis zu zwei Jahre die Möglichkeit, verschiedene Leistungen in Anspruch zu nehmen: Neben einer finanziellen Unterstützung erhalten sie sowohl einen business- als auch einen technischen Support. 👩💻 Auch ihr seid Teil eines Start-up, das in NRW ansässig ist und einen Bezug zur Raumfahrt hat? 👨💻 Dann zögert nicht, euch um einen der Plätze im ESA BIC NRW zu bewerben. 🔋 Battery Thermal Management with Structurally Integrated Cooling ❄   Recently I got to know a very interesting start-up company here in Aachen. ivilion has developed a very smart concept to implement battery cooling in electric vehicles in a thermally efficient and cost attractive way. The battery cells are housed in a multi-functional structure that provides both cooling channels and mechanical stiffness.    In contrast to conventional cooling plates, the cooling channels are much more effective because they cool a larger cell surface area. Ivilion is focusing not only on the mechanical and thermal performance of the system, but also on manufacturing. They already have prototypes and are looking for pilot customers.   We at TLK Energy are helping Ivilion with the thermal design. With our system models for cooling channels, batteries and overall thermal management, we can calculate the performance of the new system for specific development projects, leading to customized optimal designs.
