One of the things we love most at Jimdo? Connecting with our customers 🙌! Earlier this week, Jimdoers gathered for our regular all-company meeting, Teamverløtung. These meetings are an opportunity to share important updates, hear from different teams about their latest initiatives and wins, and celebrate milestones—like welcoming new team members, anniversaries, and promotions 🎉🎉. This time, we made it even more special by inviting Beat Bommeli, the owner of Wint-Piano and a Jimdo customer, to share his story with us. Our CEO and co-founder, Matthias Henze, interviewed Beat, and then Jimdoers had the chance to ask questions as well 🎤. Beat runs Winti-Piano, a digital piano rental business that he started about five years ago. His journey began when a friend asked him to teach their daughter to play piano. As he started teaching, he noticed many students didn’t have proper instruments, so he began buying used pianos to rent out. Over time, demand grew, and he expanded his business by purchasing more pianos. The pandemic played a huge role in accelerating his business, as more people took up playing the piano during lockdown. Beat eventually left his office job to run the business full-time. While he's expanded, Beat prefers to keep the business small and manageable, relying on occasional help for logistics and cleaning. His website, built using Jimdo, allows him the flexibility to manage the business on his own. Thank you, Beat, for your time, your insights, and the inspiration you brought to all of us! Only 14% of self-employed people and micro-enterprises in Germany currently use AI for their business, according to a recent survey by Jimdo and ifo institute. This is a surprisingly low number, given that AI can help with so many challenges small business owners face. Time for Jimdo’s AI Hackweek recap 💡 ! 150+ Jimdoers spent last week exploring how we can leverage AI to transform how we work at Jimdo. After a day of hands-on training, we split into cross-functional teams and got to work. We started out with 46 creative project pitches, leading to 37 amazing demos on Friday. Huge congratulations to our popular vote winners: 🏆 "Do my KTLO for me" - A tool to streamline simple migrations across multiple GitHub repositories. 🏆 "Jimmi" - Our very own AI assistant for all things Jimdo. 🏆 "Websy" - A GPT designed to answer any questions about Jimdo Customers' Websites. But the fun didn’t stop there! As a result of everyone’s hard work, we've now got a Custom GPT directory that all Jimdoers can tap into 🔥 . On the lighter side, with the help of AI, we created an epic soundtrack featuring hits like “Jimmi the Bot and Byte” and “Hackweek Heroes.” Here's a sneak peek from Websy’s catchy theme song: 🎶 “I’m Websy, here to help you out, With data insights, there’s no doubt.
