At Gartner, as across Permasteelisa Group, we are committed to constant improvement through investment in new technology, including harnessing the opportunities offered by AI and automation. A great example of this is our collaborative robot (COBOT) at our steel construction site in Germany. This will support us in the future with the welding of smaller steel components for façades, such as brackets and consoles. Our welding colleagues seized the opportunity to learn new skills in robotics and are now using COBOT on our production line, alongside newly-installed cranes to further optimise the production flow. Gartner is delighted to have created the façade, doors and a 32 sqm skylight – for Partners Group’s new HQ in Baar, Switzerland. Designed by Axess Architekten, the building’s façade has a total area of 5,215 sqm. We supplied 994 closed cavity façade (CCF) units as unitised panels, designed as ribbon windows in a faceted arrangement. The CCF system is made of thermally separated aluminium profiles, with an exterior impact pane made of laminated safety glass and an interior triple heat absorbing double-glazed unit with security properties. Motorised sun protection is built into the cavity. With its green terraces and organic curves, the building is a perfect complement to the landscape. #architecture #Switzerland #PermasteelisaGroup #JosefGartner #facades

It’s ten years to the month since the renovation of the Flurpark in Zürich, Switzerland was completed. Today, it remains an impressive example of sustainable modernisation and future-oriented construction. The original building at Flurstrasse 55 in Zürich-Altstetten was completely gutted. Gartner clad the building in a highly efficient, customised closed cavity façade that combines maximum energy efficiency and comfort. This improved important building physics values and reduced the cleaning effort. The 30m high building meets the Swiss Minergiestandard for energy-efficient building. In addition to the façade, systematic air renewal and natural ventilation through openable window vents ensure a high level of comfort for employees. Glasbau 2025 in Dresden: Unser Head of Design/Engineering in Würzburg, Felix Schmitt, referiert am 28. März über die technische Vielfalt und die komplexen Herausforderungen, die wir bei der Realisierung des „New Medal of Honor Museum“ in Arlington meisterten. Das von Rafael Viñoly entworfene Museumsgebäude besticht durch seine beeindruckende Glasarchitektur und die einzigartige Tragwerkskonstruktion: Ein 61 m x 61 m x 11 m großer Kubus, der nur von fünf 14 Meter langen Betonsäulen getragen wird. Dank eines intensiven Austauschs mit den Architekten und Kunden konnten für die verschiedensten Fassadentypen unterschiedliche Lösungen im Konstruktiven Glasbau innerhalb eines Bauwerks umgesetzt werden. Felix Schmitt wird detailliert auf die Besonderheiten der Glaskonstruktion eingehen und erläutern, wie unser Team diese architektonische Vision Wirklichkeit werden ließ, einschließlich des Einsatzes von warmgebogenen und kaltverformten Glasscheiben, Glasträgern, Seilen sowie Klemmverbindungen und Verklebungen mit Silikon. For this month’s Throwback Thursday we turn the clock back 70 years, to when the Gartner calendar featured the Cologne head office of the department store chain Kaufhof. The building, designed by architect Professor Dr. Ing. Wunderlich, was completed in 1954. The façade was constructed in aluminium and featured anodised surfaces and built-in tilt and turn sashes. Viktor Papak, later CEO of Gartner, stated at the time that: “It will act as a trailblazer for many other buildings of a similar design which will now be built in Germany.” Today, the building is under a historic preservation order. #ThrowbackThursday #architecture #JosefGartner #PermasteelisaGroup #facades

The new Mulva Cultural Center in Wisconsin, USA is an architectural highlight on the banks of the Fox River in the historic city centre of De Pere. The impressive steel and glass stick system façade by Gartner, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), is just as eye-catching as the natural stone façade, combining history and modernity in a unique way. The expansive glazing without horizontal transoms, the cantilevered steel roof structure and the delicate glass joints are designed to maximise daylight. As a new home for the creative arts, the Mulva Cultural Center will provide world-class cultural experiences, hosting travelling exhibitions and providing educational opportunities for all. This is a project that reflects our passion at Gartner for highly transparent façade solutions and the highest precision. A wonderful addition to our portfolio of projects in North America!
