Info
Komatsu Germany GmbH - Mining Division (KGM) is a proud member of the Komatsu Group. In Düsseldorf, we are specialized in the engineering and manufacturing of hydraulic mining excavators. Today we manufacture five types of hydraulic excavators of between 254 - 773 tons and bucket volumes up to 42 cubic meters in either front shovel or backhoe configuration. Since many of our excavators are used in the most inhospitable regions in the world, with extreme temperatures, and under the harshest conditions, we are above all focused on providing quality and reliability. Nearly 90% of the units we sold in the last 35 years have been supplied to repeat customers. That fact shows our superior quality in manufacturing and our superior service. The oldest currently operating unit with the most working hours is an excavator of the former PC4000 type, which has worked nearly 156,000 hours, that means the equivalent of more than 25 years of continuous service 24/7/365. Since 1980 we have manufactured more than 1,070 excavators, more than 70% of which are still in operation. We have been proud to be a part of Düsseldorf for almost 80 years. Since the 1930s we have been a production plant in Düsseldorf Benrath. Since then, we have continuously set milestones, year after year. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure and the proximity to the port and airport, we can ship every item in record time. In 2017 we opened the „Technical Center“ office building. The Technical Center is a landmark in Düsseldorf Benrath and includes attractive leisure programs and an open-space working area. The great atmosphere results in unrivaled customer service. We train apprentices, offer further education to our trainees and our employees to develop their knowledge and to keep up to date with the latest state-of-the-art technologies.

🎓 Komatsu kicked off October with milestone achievements in vocational training Earlier this month, on October 7, in the inspiring setting of Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the top 170 apprentices of the city of Düsseldorf were honored. In front of around 800 guests, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Düsseldorf, Germany honored these young talents who have distinguished themselves through exceptional achievements. The evening was hosted by WDR presenter and Grimme Award winner Siham El-Maimouni, Dorothee Feller, NRW Minister for school and education, and Andreas Schmitz, President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Düsseldorf, Germany. Thanks to their top performance in their final exams, Ayyoub Abjij, Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering, and Michael Kleiß, Technical Product Designer at Komatsu Germany GmbH - Mining Division, made it into the group of Düsseldorf's best apprentices! 💬 Michael Kleiß shared about his work: "In one of my projects, I developed a prototype tool for removing seals from hydraulic cylinders without dismantling or damaging the cylinder rod. It’s designed for direct use on mining equipment to standardize and simplify seal removal, saving time and costs for our customers." 💬 Ayyoub Abjij highlighted his work on a key project: "I worked on a low-voltage switchboard for the hydraulic mining excavator #PC8000, which was delivered to the Appenzeller Park in Switzerland. My role included control cabinet assembly, component wiring, and electrical testing according to schematics." Komatsu Germany GmbH - Mining Division is very proud of these achievements and honored to be recognized by the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce for 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. 🤗 Our success is thanks to an exceptional team of trainers and motivated apprentices! #Komatsu #training #vocationaltraining #traineeship #careerinmining

Last week, we had the honor of hosting Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, alongside with other key officials, at our Komatsu Germany GmbH - Mining Division (KGM) production site. Our Managing Director, Ansgar Thole, provided an in-depth overview of how KGM's portfolio of hydraulic mining excavators, all manufactured in Düsseldorf, is driving innovation and shaping modern day society - made in Germany, for the world. During the visit, we engaged in meaningful discussions with Minister Neubaur on crucial topics such as #climateprotection, skilled labor shortages, and future site investments - topics that are not just important for our business, but are also high on the political agenda. Mona Neubaur said: " The visit to Komatsu, which is one of the largest producers of mining and construction equipment in the world with a history of over 100 years in mining, was a special experience for me. The hydraulic mining excavators produced here are impressive in their sheer size and dimensions. KGM's commitment to climate neutrality in production by 2050 also makes me feel positive about the future of this important industry site." At KGM, we value the dialog between business and politics because it is essential for creating understanding, tackling common challenges and developing #collaborative solutions that benefit everyone - #creatingvaluetogether. During a tour of our production facility, we showcased minister Neubaur our technical capabilities and also introduced her to our latest innovation, the #PC9000. A big thank you to Mona Neubaur and her team for taking the time to visit our Düsseldorf site and taking such a keen interest in our industry! We look forward to continued collaboration as we work together towards a more sustainable and innovative future. #Komatsu #collaboration #innovation #sustainability Picture Copyrights: MWIKE NRW
