We look back on the Cleanzone show that ended yesterday with many positive impressions. Not only the lively discussions our colleagues had with visitors to our booth, but also the fact that our FlowBOS camera CR was one of the products nominated for the Cleanzone Award made our participation a complete success. We would like to thank the many visitors and the organizers and congratulate the German Institute for Textile and Fiber Research Denkendorf (Dastex and DITF) on winning the Cleanzone Award. #FlowBOS

LaVision was founded in 1989 in Göttingen, Germany. Since its foundation LaVision is the leading supplier of laser imaging systems in application fields like fluid mechanics (aerodynamics, microfluidics), combustion (automotive, power generation) as well as spray and particle diagnostics (engines, pharma). LaVision GmbH hat dies direkt geteilt
I'm happy to be able to share a sneak peak at our latest collaboration with LaVision GmbH and Catesby Projects: Full scale 'Ring-of-Fire' PIV! This week we took our Loughborough Engineering test vehicle to Catesby Tunnel to carry out novel (and fun!) full scale measurements. A unique facility like Catesby is perfectly suited to this novel technique, with minimal external factors (cross-winds) making for repeatable high-speed / time-resolved PIV measurements. We hope to publish the results in the coming months! A big thanks to all that helped this happen: Conor James Crickmore, PhD, James Upton, James Knowles, David Hollis, A. Oguzhan Erdogdu, Thomas Berg, Charlie Smith and Jon Paton. Loughborough Engineering... I promise we'll clean your once white car!

This year's International Conference on Advances in Experimental Mechanics at the University of Liverpool ended yesterday. Colleagues David Hollis and Thorsten Siebert were very pleased with the many interesting discussions on novel and innovative research in experimental mechanics that they had at their booth. For ammonia powered ships of the future, an optimization of the combustion process is crucial. In our collaboration with the Institut für Kolbenmaschinen IFKM (KIT), the Background Oriented Schlieren (#BOS) imaging technique was applied to diagnose #ammonia fuel injection. This is an essential step to maximize efficiency and minimize risks, preparing the way for a sustainable future in maritime transport. The Cleanzone Award, which we present together with our partner Wiley Corporate Solutions and their trade publication ReinRaumTechnik, is one of the highlights of the fair.
