Those who have recorded at the Hans Rosbaud Studio in Baden-Baden (Germany) say it is a true gem. It used to belong to the public broadcaster SWR and was used for jazz, entertainment, contemporary, and classical music recordings between 1955 and 2024. Even Deep Purple once rehearsed there. And Karlheinz Stockhausen was a regular. Unfortunately, the land on which it still stands was sold, and unless a last-minute miracle happens, the studio will be wrecked any day now. This video celebrates the glory of a very special place in the German production landscape. Its perfectly balanced sound has been captured with Lawo consoles for longer than anyone cares to remember. Luckily, the SWR sound engineers decided to take impulse responses in a variety of formats of this very special space. Just to ensure that its uniquely crisp and perfectly balanced sound can be recreated for special occasions moving forward. Say hello and goodbye to a historic building!
