#people & #culture - Yesterday the Vienna Business Run 🏃🏃♀️ in Vienna / Austria took place and it was really a great event✨. For L&R it was even a cross-border team event as more than 100 L&R colleagues from our subsidiaries in Austria 🇦🇹, Czech Republic 🇨🇿, Hungary 🇭🇺 and Slovakia 🇸🇰 took part. We enjoyed a great time together, running or walking 4.3k and celebrating our success togther afterwards. Our COO Thomas Menitz was also on site and congratulated all participants. Today is International Day of Charity! Social commitment has a long tradition at L&R. One of our charity pillars are product donations. Regardless of the crisis or region of need, L&R helps quickly, unbureaucratically and regularly in collaboration with our donation partners. Here are some facts: ❤️ By 31 August 2024, L&R donated more than 370 pallets of medical products in this year. 💚L&R cooperates with about 20 partner organisations / NGOs based in Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and Croatia. These organisations take care of the onward transport of the donated goods to the countries of need. ❤️Our medical products have been and continue to be used in more than 30 countries; the current focus remains on Ukraine 🇺🇦. We would like to provide an insight in a series. Today: "Harnessing more energy with single-use products." We have taken a closer look at the environmental impact and the life cycle of single-use and reusable products. We are already working in a resource-saving manner with our single-use products ♻️ ➡️ Here is an exciting example of how waste can be turned into energy: For safety reasons, single-use OR fabrics must be incinerated, as they may be contaminated.🔥However, in keeping with the waste-to-energy mindset, these materials can be incinerated in appropriate waste disposal facilities and help produce heat energy.
