🚀 From Erasmus Student to Full-time engineer: Meet Matouš Melecký✨ Matouš Melecký, originally from the Czech Republic, came to Munich as an Erasmus student at TUM to pursue his passion for robotics. With a background in computer vision, he joined Magazino in December 2021 as a Working Student in the Perception & Grasping team. We asked Matous why he initially joined Magazino as a working student back then: "I came to Munich initially as an Erasmus student and always thought that working experience should be a part of the overall “life in Germany” package. I worked on computer vision problems in a drone research group during my Bachelor studies in Prague and wanted to continue in the direction of robotics. I found Magazino to be an exciting company, bringing cool robots into practical use.” Now Matous is about to finish his Master's thesis, working on reinforcement learning for rotating KLTs on the SOTO gripper. We’re thrilled that after wrapping up his thesis, he will stay with us in the Perception & Grasping team. Matous is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in his upcoming full-time role as a robotics software engineer as of November 2024. He shared, "I am looking forward to working on new projects in more depth as a full-time engineer. The challenges in automating forklifts are especially exciting, and I’m eager to be part of the Magazino team tackling these new problems. And, of course, I’m also looking forward to many more tasty lunches from our chef, Arnaud!" We can’t wait to see the impact Matous will continue to make at Magazino as a full-time team member!! 😊
