Some personal news: I just got a new hat, a new publication, and a new job.
On Monday, I defended my dissertation. Unfortunately, that also means my time as a Ph.D. student at Goethe University’s Marketing Department has ended. Thank you to all my friends and colleagues who have made the past three years a great learning experience and enjoyable.
Special thanks to my advisor and now "Doktorvater" Bernd Skiera, who made everything possible. It’s incredible how much he invests in supporting his Ph.D. students on their academic journey. So, if you are ever looking for a place to do your Ph.D. in Marketing, look no further and apply—he’s hiring a new Ph.D. student right now.
Another special thanks to the co-authors of my dissertation articles. In addition to Bernd Skiera, I had the great pleasure of publishing with Celina Proffen and Jan Bischoff.
And that’s the second news: The latest article, "Opportunities for self-preferencing in international online marketplaces," has been published in the International Marketing Review. In this article, we assess the largest online retail platforms globally and show to which degree there are opportunities for self-preferencing. You can read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/du9tr-dV. Thanks to the editor, Timo Mandler, for the excellent guidance during the revision process!
And some final news: I will start a new job next Monday and join the Europäische Zentralbank through the Graduate Programme. I’m very excited to contribute to the ECB’s mission and work with many new colleagues from all over Europe.
