#Cashless payment is convenient. Take the restaurant business, for example: a representative survey by YouGov conducted in January 2025 found that 55% of German visitors to restaurants prefer contactless payment by card, mobile or QR code in the restaurant; among those under 45, the figure is 73%. If a business wants to offer its guests or customers a simple and uncomplicated way to pay by card or smartphone, it can now do so with #DISHPayNow. Talking digital: Customers are ready, so the industry should exploit its potential 📲 A representative survey conducted by YouGov on behalf of METRO and DISH Digital Solutions in January 2025 asked guests about their experiences and preferences in order to determine the importance of digital tools in the restaurant industry. The result: the majority of restaurant guests are already familiar with and use digital services. Just last week, METRO France inaugurated its new logistics platform in Saint-Martin-de-Crau. This platform consolidates the #logistics for assortments of dry food and beverages for our 35 stores in the south-east region of France on a 41,000m² site with a clear objective: to improve #efficiency and operational #excellence and thus to better serve our customers 🤜🤛 That means 500,000 pallets a year, or 30 million packages - right in time, right in place 🙌 This opening is part of our overall #sCore strategy by forcing an in-depth modernization of our logistics #network.
