This research introduces the HepaChip - a microfluidic chip in titer-plate format (HepaChip-MP) as a cutting-edge microfluidic platform revolutionizing liver research. 🔬 HepaChip-MP Highlights: - 24 independent culture chambers with continuous perfusion. - Automated dielectrophoresis for assembling viable cell #microtissues. - Successful co-cultures of primary human #hepatocytes and endothelial cells. - High metabolic activity and sensitive LC-MS analysis with minimal cells. - Fully automated cell culture preparation and gravity-driven #perfusion. This platform not only advances liver research but also opens the door to creating organ-on-a-chip models for other organ systems, propelling us towards more sophisticated and reliable in vitro models for drug development and disease research.
