Info

The mxr storytelling gmbh was founded by Matthias Krentzek and Roman Pilgrim in 2019. When the company was founded, the focus was on an innovative use of virtual reality and the development of the @Places _ VR Festival, which has been attracting interested visitors to the up-and-coming district of Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf since 2018. Since then, the young company has grown and currently employs five permanent staff and a growing network of freelancers. The teams‘ competencies now encompass all areas of modern marketing and digital communication. We believe in the power of good stories and authentic content. We love working with clients who have significant impact on society. We are open-minded, stand up for fairness and are passionate about our neighborhood. In addition to the service sector (mxr agency), the company structure comprises two further pillars: The mxr studio develops its own products and projects, while the 300 m² mxr lab will focus on cooperation and research in the field of immersive technologies and digitality. In addition to municipalities such as Gelsenkirchen, Essen, Bochum and Soest, the communications agency‘s clients include companies and institutions such as Tourismus NRW, E.ON Stiftung, Bistum Essen, LWL Industriemuseum Zeche Zollern and Planetarium Bochum.

How about a mixed bag of sweets, coffee, and a newspaper of the future 🍭☕️🗞️? In a time filled with negative headlines and crises, we decided to use our expertise in XR and AR to create a positive outlook. For our client, the Diocese of Essen, we editorially crafted a special newspaper featuring exclusively positive news from the year 2044. This exciting project bridges the analog and digital worlds through innovative technology. Using the Artivive app, visitors of the Catholic Day 2024 could scan the QR code-like images and view the corresponding visuals that brought the positive news stories to life - an interactive newspaper that sparks curiosity ✨🔎. Our Contributions: 👨🏼🎨 Editorial and Layout: A newspaper that allows us to look forward to a hopeful future. 🥽 Augmented Reality: We animated the images to bring them to life, making the reading experience even more exciting. 🧠 Artificial intelligence: The AR images were created by us using generative AI technology 🖌️ Inspiring Headlines: From the "first queer Chancellor" to "World Community 2044 on a Continued Path to Peace" and booming blessing ceremonies – we present a future that encourages optimism. Our project demonstrates how innovative solutions can spark curiosity and promote confidence. As shown at the Catholic Day, the newspaper also sparked numerous conversations and shows that technology can not only entertain but also foster a positive spirit. What do you think of our contribution to Catholic Day 💭? We look forward to further discussions in the comments! #mxrstorytelling #xr #ar #mixedreality #digitalization Bistum Essen Photo: Jens Albers | Bistum Essen

  • “A Gründerzeit house for people of today” – this has been our mission for the past five years with the Haus Reichstein project! 🎉 Just a few meters from our headquarters, this unique Gründerzeit building was once dilapidated and slated for demolition. Today it has a new lease of life. As a model house, it demonstrates how historic buildings can be successfully renovated. We support the Stadterneuerungsgesellschaft Gelsenkirchen in this revitalization effort funded by the NRW Ministerium für Heimat, Kommunales, Bau und Digitalisierung. 🏛️✨ 🏁 Project Goal: Haus Reichstein serves as a model house for the successful renovation of Gründerzeit buildings. This showcase project, funded by the state of NRW, demonstrates through a construction exhibition how renovations were carried out and offers valuable tips for property owners and enthusiasts. 🏡🔨 🦸 Our Role: From the initial concept and communication plan to VR visualization, video diary from the construction site, and social media content creation – we handle it all! In collaboration with architect monika gueldenberg, we developed an interactive construction exhibition with screens and VR applications. Our digital communication channels are low-threshold and easily accessible to ensure that as many people as possible can engage with the house. 💻📱 🌟 What Makes It Special: Haus Reichstein is a passion project for us because it embodies everything mxr storytelling values: great stories, authenticity, unconventional solutions, and technology for all target groups. We create digital communication platforms and uncover compelling stories in every project. Our work in multimedia communication showcases the innovative potential of media production. With a strong focus on sustainability communication and an urban development perspective, we emphasize exhibition design that reaches and informs multi-target audiences. 🌍🏙️ Learn more about the project on our website or directly on the Haus Reichstein website:  ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eYBeUuDP ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eUVPpc8p #HausReichstein #CustomerAnniversary #mxrStorytelling #XR #MediaProduction #SustainabilityCommunication #UrbanDevelopment

🎶🚀 Innovation Meets Music: Hackroulette for Music Schools NRW 🚀🎶 At mxr Storytelling, we are proud to bring exciting projects like the "Hackroulette for Music Schools NRW" to life together with the Landesverband der Musikschulen NRW. This project's goal was to explore how digital technologies can be better integrated into music schools and to ignite enthusiasm for XR. What's it about? As part of the Digital Day „Musikschule.digital.NRW.2030” organized by the Landesverband der Musikschulen NRW (LVdM NRW), mxr storytelling orchestrated a one-day speed-hackathon and offered music teachers the opportunity to dive into the opportunities of VR music-learning experiences. Additionally our co-founder, Matthias Krentzek, delivered an inspiring talk on the future of immersive technologies and the chances they bear for teaching music. He explained how augmented reality makes content more visible, virtual reality allows for immersive experiences, and mixed reality merges different realities. He also emphasized how spatial computing and the metaverse represent the next stages of the digital world. Our Contributions: 🎧 Organizing and conducting  an 8-hour ideation-hackathon with embedded mxr team members 🎧 Exhibition and management  of a VR station 🎧 Delivering a talk on the latest XR developments for participants In teams, participants developed innovative concepts to digitally transform music schools. At the end of the day, they pitched their ideas to an audience and NRW cultural minister Ina Brandes. 🏆 The Highlight: Team "Glaskasten" impressed with their AR music learning Tamagotchi, while Team "219" presented an AI-based learning and exchange platform. Both projects offered inspiring insights into possible digital futures of music schools. 🎶🌐💡 #XR #AR #VR #MixedReality #MusicSchools #Hackathon #Digitalization #mxrStorytelling #Innovation | Nils Mikolajczak | Simon Schlenke | Thomas Hanz 📸 (c) LVdm/Lara Golfmann

  • Last week we followed the invitation of the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW to Düsseldorf to receive the official grant notification for our research project "ARIZON". In this project we continue our cooperation efforts with the Westfälische Hochschule - together with the departments for computer sciences and economics we dive into the potential of augmented reality zones in downtown areas. In the next two years we want to find out, how different uses of augmented reality can aid the sustainable development of inner city areas. We are very happy that the state of NRW and the EU support this co-joined project and we are looking forward to assemble and share the insights gained in the course of the project. Also congratulations to all the other participants of the NEXT.IN.NRW funding programm.
