n8n quick tip: You can use fewer code-nodes by using the the JMESPath JSON Query language in expressions. This allows you to extract and transform elements from a JSON document. Learn more: https://buff.ly/3WuzO4G #n8ntips #automation #lowcode

We love seeing innovative integrations like this! What would you create with Rajat's extension?
Right now Ask Steve (https://www.asksteve.to) calls an LLM in the background with your prompt and returns the result. But really it's just calling an API which happens to be an LLM. With a few small new features in the latest version of Ask Steve, I've made it easy to call ANY API. So now rather than triggering a single LLM call from the current page or selection, you can do... anything! Pre-process the input, augment it with external information, log it, etc. Then process the input with code, external services, one or more LLMs, or some combination. And finally post-process the result before returning it to the user in the Ask Steve UI. To demo this, I created a simple workflow using n8n.io - a really powerful low/no-code workflow automation builder - and connected it to an Ask Steve Skill. This workflow takes the selected text, parses it, puts it into a Google Sheet and returns a confirmation. You can do this with your own code running on a server somewhere, or with any visual workflow builder like n8n, Gumloop (YC W24), Activepieces (YC S22), Make, Zapier etc. that supports Webhooks. Ask Steve has leveled up :)

n8n hat dies direkt geteilt
Today, I had a great conversation with Bart Veldhuizen, the community manager at n8n. We discussed how n8n had revolutionized our automations at Church Media Squad, and I'd like to share an example I told him about on the call but didn't have it finished yet to show him. (I finished this in the last 3 hours since the call, along with other items) The secret? n8n's ability to incorporate complex expressions directly into workflows. This feature allows us to: - Write custom logic for amounts, plan names, and dates - Use expressions to output booleans for routing in switches - Map fields The result? A streamlined workflow that matches the output of our previous make.com setup but is significantly less complex. While the initial learning curve in n8n might seem more intense, the long-term benefits are substantial: 1. Flexibility: With n8n, it's not about whether you can build it—it's about knowing how. And with AI assistants like ChatGPT or Claude, even complex setups become manageable. 2. Maintainability: In our previous setup, updating one route often meant updating multiple modules. With n8n, we can fix a single node and move on, saving time and reducing errors. 3. Scalability: The robustness of n8n's expression system allows us to avoid the pitfalls and limitations often encountered in other make or zapier. This shift to n8n has been transformative for our automation processes. It's a testament to how choosing the right tools can significantly impact a team's productivity and efficiency. Have you experimented with n8n or similar automation tools? I'd love to hear about your experiences and insights in the comments below!
