Strengthening the Local Economy: Adorf Z19 Last week, we welcomed media representatives, local politicians, and regional companies to our Adorf Z19 drilling site to share insights about this project. With an investment of over €70 million in 2025, we are not only expanding the Adorf Carboniferous gas field but also supporting local businesses and jobs. Andreas Scheck, Managing Director of Neptune Energy, emphasized during the visit, “Alongside Germany’s high safety and environmental standards, our contribution to the local economy is a significant aspect of this project.” Companies such as KCA Deutag (Bad Bentheim), STRABAG (Osterwald), and many others play a vital role in driving this project forward. We extract resources for everyone - for our everyday lives. Around 380 colleagues support the production of natural gas and crude oil from 31 fields in Germany, making an important contribution to domestic supply security. In 2022, a total of 5.9 terawatt hours of natural gas and 280,000 tonnes of crude oil were produced, generating a revenue of 658 million euros. Our operational centres are located in western Lower Saxony, the Rhine Valley, and the Altmark region, with our company headquarters in Hanover. Locally, we can look back on 135 years of tradition and are simultaneously working on the transformation of our company. For us, this means producing crude oil and natural gas with as few emissions as possible and as close to the consumer as possible. We are also using our technical expertise and infrastructure to find solutions for a sustainable future. Our experts are working today on the raw materials for tomorrow - whether it's domestic lithium to enable electromobility or climate-friendly heat from geothermal energy. We also fulfil our responsibility towards the environment: our decommissioning team transforms former boreholes and operating sites back into fields and nature.

Welcoming Visitors to Adorf Z19 👷♂️ Following the start of drilling at well Adorf Z19 we welcomed on site 14 students from Bochum’s Ruhr University. Our guests from the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy and Geophysics, led by Professor Tobias Backers, were particularly interested in the technical aspects of drilling and the geology of the Adorf Carboniferous gas field. After an introduction to our business and an overview of the Adorf field’s development over the years, Lars Bierenriede, Manager Drilling Engineering at Neptune, led them on a site tour, providing first-hand insights into the ongoing operations. Neptune's first battery-grade lithium extracted! In November 2024, with the support of KBR, Inc., the first technical-grade lithium carbonate was produced from lithium chloride extracted from our Altmark field as part of the Geolith Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) pilot phase. We are now excited to share that we have successfully extracted our own battery-grade lithium with a purity of 99.9% at Neptune’s laboratory in Lingen, again under KBR supervision. This marks the successful completion of our first Altmark pilot test, and we are now preparing for pilot test No. 2. Congratulations to the entire team!

By means of a mobile construction site, each location must be fully decommissioned step by step before moving on to the next location. Progress at the Adorf Gas Field! Drilling has started at the Adorf Z19 gas production well in north-west Germany! The well is expected to reach its final depth of 4,200 metres by May 2025. Next up will be Adorf Z20, which will be drilled from the same site immediately afterwards. Neptune Energy’s CEO, Andreas Scheck, highlights: "The Adorf Carboniferous field development is one of our most promising activities in Germany and demonstrates our desire to grow the business here." The Adorf gas field already supplies enough gas to heat over 200,000 households – a key contributor to Germany’s domestic energy supply. Next Phase at Adorf Begins! Starting in mid-February, Neptune Energy specialists will commence drilling at the Adorf Carboniferous gas field in northwestern Germany. The first well, Adorf Z19, will be drilled in the municipality of Georgsdorf, followed directly by Adorf Z20 from the same location, according to current plans. The KCA Deutag drilling rig is already being transported and assembled, setting the stage for this exciting next project phase. We look forward to moving ahead!

✨ Ein gelungener Auftakt in das Jahr 2025 In der EmslandArena in Lingen kamen heute mehrere hundert Unternehmerinnen und Unternehmer aus der Wirtschaftsregion Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim zusammen, um mit uns auf das Jahr 2025 anzustoßen. 🎞️ Filmreif wurde der Abend durch unseren neuen Standort-Film „Klar! Allen, die in Osnabrück, dem Emsland oder der Grafschaft Bentheim gründen, investieren, arbeiten oder leben möchten, können wir nur sagen: Klar! Machen! 💥 IHK-Präsident Uwe Goebel persönlich begrüßte anschließend alle Gäste und dankte allen Beteiligten für ihr Engagement, unsere Region voranzutreiben. Der Film zeige auf wie viel Potential in unserer Heimat stecke. Zur Tradition des Neujahrsempfanges ist es auch geworden, den Ministerpräsident des Landes Niedersachsen Stephan Weil empfangen zu dürfen. Wir danken ihm herzlich für seine Zeit, das entgegengebrachte Vertrauen und seine Rede.
